The staff is rather sour. We speak very little Portuguese but they could offer a smile or a helpful attitude. They really do not want you to order any drinks or food because it mean work…

Fantastic sun-deck and a great view of the ocean from our bed. Nice and friendly manager. Fresh breakfast with plenty of local fruit.

Set right on the waters edge, you wake up to sound of the ocean and a beautiful view each day. The beds are super comfy. Ilha Grande is a tropical paradise.

The location is fantastic. Waking up directly at the water really makes you feel like you are in paradise. Adolfo‘s positive and calm energy is welcoming and makes you feel like home. He arranged a very good boat trip for us and provided really good suggestions and inputs for us of what to do on the island.

The rooms aren't luxurious but everything works well.

Excellent place to stay with very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful beaches within walking distance and the boats trips available take you to the major beaches on the island like Lopes Mendes. A great place to relax and a bonus is the turtle that swims regularly by the decking! Straight forward to get to with the ferry from Angra dos Reis.

What a fantastic place, peaceful and basic. Great to get away from life for a while. The owner is a great guy, super friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean and we spent all our time enjoying the island and the resorts outside terrace, lounges and hammocks.

The afternoon staff was really impolite and the food was expensive.

We had a very nice stay, breakfast was really good and this is an amazing location. We spent a lot of time on the deck and the snorkling just outside is very nice.

The hosts were incredibly helpful and nice. They helped us book a boat trip, suggested great local things to eat and hiking trails to take to explore the island. The location is beautiful,peaceful and safe and a great combination of both jungle and beach. There are plenty of sunbeds, great views, chill music, a very cute cat named Lua and an overall idyllic atmosphere.

In the kitchen, the women don't speak English or Spanish at all. This makes communication very difficult. It would be great if they could be taught basic tourist words and phrases. They just don't even know the word "eggs" or "fried eggs". .Rooms can be renovated, the doors do not close well. The hot water is too hot, this can be adjusted. Internet from our stay at 3 nights, 2 nights did not work at all. But he, in general, is on the island who has mobile Internet ...

Great little hotel with its own pier. The owner is a great guy, speaks English. It's great that there is always a cold beer in the minibar, which is replenished every day. Cleaning is good daily. Tasty restaurant with market prices. In 5 minutes there is an excellent deserted paradise beach. The view from the room is amazing. It is possible to order excursions on the spot at a market price.

Location was fantastic! Owners are very friendly and so helpful. You can feel the passion they have for their island and what they do. Rooms are on the simple side but bed was comfy, air worked, tv worked, great food and drinks- not much more needed to chill for a few days!

We had an amazing stay at Mar da Lua. If you want to relax, this is the perfect place for it. You can make trails, boat tours or just enjoy. Food in the own restaurant is just awesome! Adolfo and Francisco are perfect hosts.

Nothing - everything was great

The hotel was in a beautiful location - amazing views from the rooms, and a few minutes walk from beaches. The owner and staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, with very fresh fish and excellent cake at breakfast. You can get a boat directly from Angra dos Reis to the pier of the hotel which is convenient. We loved everything about our stay!
