Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFirst of all, the wifi was really unstable and temperamental, I was allocated a room on the 10th floor. When I tried to call the reception the telephone did not work at all. The soap dispenser was broken and no soap was allocated: we had to use the one in the shower. Since I had time the morning I decided to use the gym on the 11th floor. All the equipment is either unserviceable or flimsy. Completely useless. I left after 15 minutes.
A decent breakfast with a nice coffee (machine) and fresh fruit. Also in the reception area they offer water and coffee throughout the day. Room was a good size with a walking-in area wardrobe. Also the bathroom was a decent size.

SwitzerlandThe room was not clean at all, everywhere full of hairs (bed, floor, bath room)- the bed was uncomfortable and hard, there wasn't even a proper duvet cover.
The staff was really friendly and the location was good reachable from the GRU International Airport.

CanadaNo pool, 1 of the restaurants was closed for construction. The room I had seemed to be renovated but the bathroom is still in poor condition and may not have been done. There isn't even a toilet paper holder, just a roll placed on the back of the toilet.
Looked like a nice modern hotel

United Arab Emirates- staff were not friendly at all - towels were very old - we paid for the shuttle, however they only wanted to take us to terminal 2 , when international flights departed from terminal 3, and the driver asked for tips to take us to terminal 3. - bed and pillows were not comfortable.
They let us check in one hour before the check-in time.

United StatesThe internet did not work on my floor, so I had to go to the restaurant to do work. I would have prefered to do it in my room. For this reason, I gave a lower rating.
The breakfast was pretty good and the room service was quick (room service food was okay). They had a shuttle to the airport which was nice.

South AfricaFirstly, the male reception staff are extremely rude and need manners. Our room which was first allocated to us on the 7th floor had a sanitation issue of faces. Over a 2 day period I had to complain to reception and a maintenance man was sent however on the 2nd day it continued I had to go to reception 3 times, eventually with a video I was going to post online before we were given another room. The male receptionist who was dealing with the issue was rude and arrogant. The room that was allocated to us was near some pub or music venue and a good night's sleep was impossible. The other issue was the very mediocre breakfast, there's only one type of eggs, one type of juice and the passteries from the previous day get served the following day. The waiters clean up around you whilst you eating. It was also extremely difficult to find a breakfast table due to the large number of football teams staying at the hotel. Such large numbers or athletes make it uncomfortable for normal guests. There's long waits for elevators up to 15minutes due to the huge number of guests. The athletes are constantly noisy and you can hear both upstairs above you and the rooms next to you the noise they make. There's people screaming down the hallway and knocking on doors in the early hours of the morning. The hotel doesn't even offer money exchange, the hotel needs to learn from Bristol, mercure, tryp, Melia how to run a decent establishment. Not forgetting the constant banging from the renovations. I have traveled extensively in the world and this was by far the worst hotel I have stayed at. I will not recommend it to anyone. Dr. Leila Lia Khan

United Arab EmiratesI ordered a caipirinha in a restaurant and what i got was an absolute disgrace of that drink. Made of some artifical lime jucie, coloured cloudy, i had to ask double to get a normal amount. When i tried it, tasted like a cheap bad liquid for nearly 30reals.... stirred my stomach. Yuck! Please do not order that! Upstairs ladies toilet was closed, i had tp use mens when noone was watching. Smoking area had a damaged sunbad... Breakfast i asked tinfoil for sandwiches i made to take away, yet the foil was very limited to wrap 1sandwich. I loved the hotel at first, i could not wait to get outta threre by check out.
It is central. Breakfast is good enough to get you going and pack some sandwiches for a trip ahead. Great area for shopping of neccesaties.
