The pool area is beautiful and has a great potential. However, it looks a bot sad (staff is uncommitted; the music is offputting; the whole area is too dark)

Some people complained about the property being on top of a hill and needing a car ride up and down. We didn’t mind at all and Ubers will pick you up and drop you off at the front. It’s a non issue. The actual neighborhood is a good distance from Barra and the historic center so you will be riding about 20-25 mins to those locations. Also the WiFi is good but can be spotty randomly disconnecting. Breakfast was good but could use more variety.

Fantastic property with beautiful view of the ocean and the city. Everything was clean and felt fairly new. Very comfortable bed and large room. Pool area was great as well with wonderful drinks and service and of course an amazing view. Also had a great view right from our room. Breakfast was great and right below the hotel is an area with several restaurants and live music.

Some difficulties communicating as only a few of the staff speak English, those who do are very helpful though. Pool gets quite dirty quickly when busy, not sure how to fix that though. Rooms at the end of the corridor near the generator can be a little noisy.

Great location - very convenient to get places, especially with the shuttle to the bottom of the hill where there are lots of lively restaurants and bars. Beautiful views from the rooftop bar. Spacious rooms

My linen was dirty on the first day. I subsequently also found a stained towel during my stay. The pool was disgustingly dirty, I never saw it get cleaned the whole 9 days I was there. I only swam in it once The rooms should at least have kettles and coffee/tea - for a 4 star hotel which Novotel Rio Vermelho claims it is The gym could do with updated cardio equipment - and more space for such a large hotel, only 5 people can use it at a time (at a push!).

The hotel has a lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the bay and the city. It is conveniently located in the Rio Vermelho neighbourhood, which has lots to do.

Generally old building, thus the room smelled a bit. Bad sound isolation (near the hotel were several open bars working till very late night) that affected the quality of sleep

The hotel staff was not very knowledgeable in English (except for a few individual partially speaking the language). That made our stay in Salvador a bit less enjoyable as we could not count on the staff for any recommendations about basically anything.

The breakfast was the best thing about this hotel. Tasteful, local, diverse and changes everyday, we loved it. The location in Rio Vermelho is great with many restaurants and bar nearby. Also safe to walk at night so that was a big PRO. The hotel, although nice, was not exactly as the pictures showed but we still enjoyed spending time there very much. Also the staff of ''Prive Turismo'' Rose, was very friendly and helped us chose interesting tours to do while in Salvador.

Staff are very helpful and patient. The ocean view in the lobby, restaurant and rooftop bar is unbeatable. Location is very secure, room is spacious.
