Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomI had booked a twin bedroom. When I arrived I was given a double, where I stayed for my first night, this bedroom also had a leak in the toilet. I had to really push for the hotel to change my rooms in my second day. My second room was better than the first but had a problem with the lighting system that couldn't be fixed.
The hotel location is very good, if you want to stay close to the two most well known beach in Rio. There are all kind of facilities at your door step, including public transport. In general the staff were friendly and accommodating. A suggestion it would be for the hotel to extend their room service open hours and expand their menu options. I arrived 9.30pm after a longhaul flight. I expect at least being able to order a sandwich.

ItalyBathroom is really small in standard room, with no fan inside, so there was little humidity near the shower. I did not appreciate that we had to pay to leave the baggages, even if the amount was 20 BR for 2 (small) luggages
Good breakfast, the hotel is really close to the beach, near both copacabana and ipanema beach, staff really polite, good wifi all over the hotel.

The location was excellent. it was a busy hotel but the staff on the desk were patient and helpful. I had a very good room with great views. On my last day, the main receptionist asked to see if I had had enough help and made other suggestions. He also helped me get a taxi.
