Great location on Copacabana beach. Very friendly staff. Nice rooftop pool and bar. Great reasonably priced restaurant.

Room was a little tired but this is reflected in the price as with the stunning views and closeness to the beach a lot more could be charged if the decor was brand new.

The PortoBay is on the Copacabana beach strip, if we had been there a week later we could have watched the Madonna concert from our balcony as the stage was directly opposite. The location is fabulous. The roof top bar is stunning with views up to Christ the Redeemer and from every angle are breath taking and the PortoBay team are really helpful.

Beach sun loungers were fold away chairs. Would have been nice to be able to lie down. The lift didn’t feel the safest.

Location is amazing , we got upgraded to a side sea view, friendly staff at reception and at breakfast.

Everything was perfect. The location right on Copacabana Beach, the room was large, clean and comfortable. The rooftop pool had amazing views of Rio and the staff were kind and helpful. Also had a beach service with sun loungers and security to look after your belongings. Couldn't ask for more from a hotel.

Service at the pool was horrifically slow, waited over an hour for a simple burger and bruschetta… the elevators were a huge frustration, you could be waiting 10 mins at the busy periods to get up or down. Bathrooms were a touch on the small size but to be expected I guess. Would have to say the beach towels as well were in a bit of horrible condition, come terrible stains on them.

Rooftop pool was cool even if it’s a bit on the shallow side. Front desk staff very helpful and kind. Breakfast was good with rotating stuff, if your gluten free make sure to ask what items are gluten free as some of the staff don’t have a clue and the signage is horrific!

There are no power outlets or USB outlets next to the beds. There is only one 220V power outlet and it's in the bathroom. The bathroom floor was covered in water after a shower.

Perfect location next to Copacabana beach. We had a room with a balcony that gave us a great view of the beach. The hotel has a private area on the beach so you don't need to rent sun loungers or towels. There's also hotel staff on the beach to keep guests and their belongings safe. The staff at the hotel and on the beach were very nice. The rooftop pool and bar area is great but probably a little small for the size of the hotel.

A bit noisy the room and pillows could be better

The location is great. The breakfast is amazing with homemade cake and jam. The room is spacious and the bed is massive. Nice bar and pool on the roof top with amazing view. An extra thanks goes to Sascha that has been looking after us and suggesting good restaurants

All of the staff was amazing! This is my second time staying at the Property and even though every employee was great, Thais in Reception, was a step above, She is amazing! Please make sure you keep her at all costs and if possible, please think about promoting her!

We had some obnoxious Americans staying as a group on the same floor as us who would come in around 3am shouting and making noise without consideration for anyone else .

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel . We arrived early and the efficient receptionist kindly allowed us to store our luggage and use the pool & shower room. We had a side view room of the beach and could see Christ the Redeemer statue in the distance. The breakfast with a view was an excellent spread and all the staff in the restaurant very friendly and efficient We used the chairs on the beach and the rooftop pool. Thank you for a lovely stay

Early check in was no problem as were the use of facilities for the day after we checked out. Excellent room over looking beach. I would recommend upgrading.

The late check-in. Was checked in after 2:30pm. Water leaking from the closet. (I can say it was resolved by the time I returned from my outing)

Hotel was right across from the beach, which made the beach easily accessible. Rooftop pool and restaurant were great. I loved I was allow to do a late check-out at 6pm made my travels back so easy.
