Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe restaurant was very average so we didn’t each there much, which was a shame.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a simple place but well looked after, especially the wonderful plants and trees everywhere. The pools are great, especially for kids and there was always space at the pool - usually we were the only people there. We changed room after the first night to one that was higher up and had an amazing view and lots of light. It was lovely just sitting on the balcony. The staff were very helpful and friendly, letting us use the pool and gardens before check-in and after check-out. The beach club is a nice additional extra.

The pool and the setting is very nice. Also a Short walk to the restaurants and beach. The staff is very friendly and let accommodated our needs perfectly. The access to the beach club is a god send!

Amazing stay in Búzios. Great location not too far from the beach, access to the Beach club was really good - with nice pool, spa facilities and restaurant/bar. The hotel has a parking lot and also a van that can take you to the beach club. The balcony view from the superior double bedroom was breathtaking, and there was a hammock available.

United StatesThe ambience of the "bistro" at the hotel was not so nice, although the food was OK. Laundry service was a bit expensive. For music at the beach, we would have preferred silence or Brazilian rather than American music.
Except for the constantly blaring top hits of the 70's, we enjoyed the beach and the hotel-affiliated Beach Club at Joao Fernandez beach, the chairs and umbrellas and the impeccable bathrooms, and the punctual van if you don't want to walk the 600 meters from the hotel. At the hotel, our room was spacious (no complaints), the breakfast ample (with house baked breads!), the lap pool excellent. We liked that the public transportation to downtown, etc. was three blocks away from the hotel and that we could easily walk to the restaurants on Av. Ribiero Dantas. About the only thing lacking was an ocean view, but that would mean a much higher price point.
