Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Pousada Morre do Forte in Paraty. The serene ambiance and breathtaking views made our stay incredibly relaxing. Waking up to breakfast with monkeys and hummingbirds each morning was a magical highlight, adding a touch of nature's beauty to our day. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere was peaceful, allowing us to unwind and enjoy every moment of our time there. We highly recommend Pousada Morre do Forte to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway with stunning views and warm hospitality. It's truly a hidden gem in Paraty.

United KingdomRooms are compact - bathroom is a bit small and shower temp is difficult to control. Lack of storage space in room. Flies / bees around breakfast on first day was slightly off putting but less so on second day.
Beautiful views across Paraty / good location- short walk to the town. The staff were friendly and very hospitable. New air con unit in room. Nice cake and coffee mid-afternoon. Monkeys coming to visit each day were delightful!

United KingdomMinor point but the curtains were not particularly thick so the room was filled with light which woke us up very early.
This was a fantastic hotel that felt very homely. Our rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. We were able to book our tours directly through the staff, without added commission. Breakfast was a highlight here - as vegetarians, we often struggle but were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food, the amazing views and the monkeys that joined from a distance! Would recommend to anyone visiting Paraty.

United StatesThe only slightly annoying thing we didn't know about until after the first night was that the large room at the end of the first floor apparently backed up to the kitchen. Hence, their morning preparations and chatter woke our friends very early. The room was lovely but the location of that room is not for those who like to sleep in.
Breakfast was a lovely assortment of fruits, cereals, cakes, breads, etc. and they also asked each morning if we would like eggs and made them to our preferences. the staff and service was wonderful, friendly, and welcoming and always there if you needed something.

BrazilThe sound insulation was not sufficient, even with all doors and windows closed we could still hear sounds from the city and sometimes even from other rooms. Not enough to interrupt our sleep though.
The breakfast was very good, the staff was super friendly and helpful and location was also good with a nice view in the breakfast area.

Staff were lovely. Breakfast was good, the room was very comfortable and WiFi too. Location is great just a 5 minute walk to the town up a short incline. The view from the pool area is beautiful, visits by small monkeys at breakfast and would loved to have stayed longer but were fully booked for another night!

United KingdomWe had an amazing view of the city but the room was under the breakfast area so it could get a bit noisy. The bathroom needs a little touch in refurb.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful not only to make you feel comfortable but also giving you tips about the place and services around. The breakfast is delicious with options freshly made at the location. Excellent value for money.

NetherlandsNothing could have been better about the stay, wished we could have stayed longer! It was so hot but it was a heatwave, so the pool was a saviour!
The location, although not directly IN the town, is amazing. The views are incredible as the hotel is up a bit of a hill. Quiet and relaxing. Staff super friendly, the breakfast is amazing and it was so peaceful every morning to sit with a wonderful view and watch the little monkeys run about. Loved it so much!

United KingdomNothing worth mentioning, it was all ok!
I think the main reason I liked my stay here is the room. We had the only "detatched" room, which is literally by the pool but with a more private entrance and with a very own little patio, overlooking the beautiful nature around Paraty. I'm sure the other rooms are as nice, but this somehow felt it was the best. It definitely comes at a price, around £90 per night (non peak season) which is ok (if you are £, Eur, or $) but it seems to be on the very expensive side for brazil (and maybe brazilians too). Regardless, this place and that room are worth every penny. Breakfast is great and you'll get to have it in the main patio overlooking the bay, the pool is ok and it definitely works a treat when you come back from a day out or to relax in the morning when temperature are still not too hot. The staff is very kind and helpful. This place is a true paradise and I really don't think it can be topped up, at least in Paraty! 10-15 minutes walking (uphill on the way to the hotel) to town center. If you come by coach, then is like 30 mins walking from the coach station. If you have actual suitcases though, get a taxi (no uber in Paraty).
