How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I wish they had a swimming pool as it can get very hot in Brazil during summer. Other than that, no complaints!
This property was very well located, staff was kind and helpful and the breakfast was good (surprised they had crepes!)

The owner and staff were extremely friendly and warm. It made a great change after coming from Rio, where we had some issues. They helped us with some local info regarding busses and passport control for Argentina. When they didn't know the answer, they helped us find it. The beds were very comfortable, and the location was brilliant. The breakfast was also great, with bread, cheese, ham, eggs, sausage, jam, cake, fruit, juice and coffee available. Located in central and 9 mins walk from the bus station that goes to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu falls. Really good value for money, especially compared to other prices in the region.

The twon has two main strips, one seams to be the tourist one and one the locals one. This hotel is on the locals main strip, so its away from the fancy restaurants and other hotels, but it is in a nice location to get to the park.

Parking the car was a little tricky
Very good location in the center of Foz. Good fruits for breakfast. Very nice and accomodating staff.

Everything was perfect. The rooms, beds, washrooms. Breakfast was the best I've had so far in Brazil, very diverse, healthy, tasty as well. Junior and Dolores are amazing, also the chef(sorry I'm not able to recall the name). All of them are very very very helpful and welcoming. We had a very high class experience. I don't even have words to describe how nice it was. Muito Obrigado, hope we meet again

I struggle to think of anything.
Great service - Dolores and her family excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Very convenient location - a 5 minute walk to the town centre, shops; buses, restaurants etc. She put us in touch with a guide (Nestor) who was tremendous - a great recommendation. 24 hour security.

it was difficult to communicate with the property owners since they did not speak any English
it was very well located just a crew blocks from the Center. breakfast was very nice with a lot of fruits, cereal, juices and coffee etc.

The eldest lady wanted payment in cash. She talks bit loud and if the glass door is not closed it will disturb you. There was a wall in fromt of the window so almost no natural light.
Fast wifi, good air condition, hot shower, nice breakfast with lot of varieties. Very helpful staff. Both ladies were attentive and helpful.

The only complaint was the noise from kids yelling and running in the halls. There was really no sound insulation from the hall but we did not hear guests in other rooms which was great.
Nicely decorated room with clean sheets and towels. Air-conditioning and wifi worked well. Staff is very nice and let us check in early. Breakfast is good with plenty of choices. Location is great close to restaurants and the bus stop. For the price it is excellent!

When you turned on the shower, the water came with little pressure, but we could take showers just fine. It has a very good cost-benefit to stay in Pousada Quedas d'agua.
Dolores and Rosalinda were really incredible caring for me and my husband. Breakfast was really complete with fruits, juices, coffee, milk, eggs, bread, etc. Also the location was very good in the city center. It is close to the bus stop that takes you to the waterfalls, Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) and Ciudad Del Este (Paraguay).

The TV had a poor signal.
Excellent value for money. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and breakfast was nice.

They were super nice and literally helped with everything. They also helped to organise our tours, were generally really flexible. The breakfast was plentiful. They speak german. It was one of my best experiences on Booking.

Shower in the bedroom didn't have hot water but when I asked they showed me another room which had hot water shower.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and nice humble breakfast. If you ask for scrambled eggs, lady in the kitchen can happily make it for you. TV in the room, local channels available.
