This was a great pousada in Paracuru, close (10 min drive) to the main kiteboarding beach Quebra Mar (see kite beach details below). We stayed in a chalette, which was large, with a hammock and deck where you can hang out and keep your equipment. There is enough parking for your rental car. The breakfast was very good and pretty typical of other pousadas in other kite spots: fruits, freshly baked cake, cereal, (very good) coffee, omelette, and tapioca. The hotel also has a bar (very nice Caipirinha de Maracuja) and restaurant (decent food, but try the Italian place in town, Mare Cafe). Staff was awesome, and extremely helpful. Kitesurfing: I strongly recommend you rent a car. It would be very hard to deal with taxis to go to the kite beach, Quebra Mar. There are no places to stay on the kite spot or at a walking distance. You have to go through a badly paved and narrow road that gets covered in sand, and traffic jams and fender benders happen frequently. There is an alternative drive that takes 45 mins, which may be a good idea if your car is not 4WD. The spot is amazing for strapless wave riding! At low tide, the area between the beach and reefs get kind of flat, but not like a typical Brazil lagoon. A lot of wingers and foilers, in addition to kiters. There is a Wind & Foil Center. If they have space, you can pay a little money to keep your equipment there. There is also a restaurant that serves nice lunch, and a small shack that serves great acai. After 9 days, I could not have enough of this spot, and cannot wait to go back.
