A beautiful hotel with great service throughout the stay, incl. valet parking. Excellent Breakfeast. Really good restaurant for dinner as well. The wife tried the newly started Spa service and enjoyed it alot. Worth a stay for sure.

The problems are always on the details, which can’t be overlooked in a property like this. The bathroom has only one towel hanger, that can two towels when dry and clean, there’s no place to hang the towel after the shower. Our biggest disappointment was the breakfast, which we had high hopes for. The wood burn stove is great as concept, but it makes the room very smoky. Also, unless you get the eggs right after the girl finishes making them, you will get cold eggs. The stove does not keep the eggs or any of its sides warm (bacon, melted cheese, sandwiches, all cold). Lastly, even though the restaurant staff is generally very friendly and eager to help, the service can be very slow.

Good location, beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed, with great linens. The pool area is specially pleasant with the jacuzzi and the steam room.

Lots of steps required to access some parts of the hotel - a bit difficult with a baby in a pram. Some partly broken things (lift door didn't self close, a fan in the bathroom was very noisy) - but overall the charm of the place made up for these minor items.

Beautiful old historic building. Great breakfast, cooked over open flame. Good restaurant at the hotel. One of our rooms was spacious, and fit well for our family. Close to city centre with restaurants.

Only minor point noted was the outdoor pool and shower area was currently undergoing renovation. Indoor pool (heated) was still available for use.

Great hotel with a lot of character, the king suite was suburb. Staff were great in assisting with rose petals for a special anniversary.

Some of the rooms are getting a little dated and could benefit from a simple coat of paint on the walls. Lighting could also be upgraded.

A very good hotel to stay in your visit to Ouro Preto. A traditional building across the street to one of the classic baroque churches of Ouro Preto. Easy access to all the historical buildings in downtown area. Close to the intercity bus station. Breakfast is wonderful, truly a feast of traditional mineira cuisine served around a traditional wood stove. Felt like going back to the house of my grandmother in the countryside of Minas Gerais. Toiletries are of exceptional quality. Staff is kind, warm, friendly and helpful. Most certainly, the best pick among the three top high-end hotels in Ouro Preto.

We absolutely loved to stay at this hotel, location was perfect, in center but outside the busy areas, the hotel is impeccably decorated and super cozy. the beds and pillows are super comfortable. the breakfast is outstanding with the food being cooked on a wood fire. I will be back for sure!

Hot water ran out by mid-morning, so we weren't able to shower after enjoying breakfast and before heading out for the day.

Very lovely grounds and beautiful architecture. Rooms were squeaky clean, and while the bathroom could use some TLC, it was comfortable and the shower was good. One of the rare places where the bed was as inviting as my own, with a warm duvet during the colder nights. Breakfast was very, very good and staff were extremely pleasant. Restaurant at night was quite good.
