How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Overall room seems tired, but overall it was clean and comfy. Cabinets were noisy, but I got used to it. Wooden furniture had specific smell of old furniture, but I got used to it also. Seemed overprice, but I was traveling at the tome of big tech event, so it makes sense.
Breakfast was nice, great variety of food to choose from. Staff was nice, great service. Prices for roomservice anddelicious food is on point. Beach is up close, just across the street, which is nice. Also rooftop pool is a great place for sunset.

The rooms were a little run down and need an upgrade. There was no coffee maker in the room.
Spacious, clean, good service. Location was a good balance between being near the beach and a quick taxi to the convention centre

The pool could be bigger and deeper, and there could be a smaller pool somewhere or a covered pool. The hotel is a bit far from everything

Location location location. Even if does not depend on the hotel, the mini market location is quite practical..

It was a little further out than we expected, but easy to get around via taxi.
Fantastic service and quality of facilities. Beds were super comfy and some great views from the rooftop!

There is nothing that I didn't like. I think that the buffet on the lunch and in the dinner could be a little cheaper. Ah, another point, the wifi is not too good there.
The pool is very good with a good structure and a great view. The staff is very pleasure all the time and it makes you feel very comfortable.

Breakfast was decent but not as good as the Miramar by windsor at Copacabana that we previously stayed in (although I much preferred Windsor Marapendi in all other respects).
The location is fabulous. It feels safe. The beach is beautiful. It’s quiet and calm and feel safe. The room and reception were spacious. The pool was lovely.

Sometimes the front desk gets too busy and you need to stay in line for long minutes.
Nice hotel situated just in front of Barra de Tijuca beach. Excellent and abundant breakfast. Pool on the 17th floor with a great view of "La Barra". They do not have beach service but you can get towels for the beach/pool. Rooms are spacious but they need a refurbish.

Checking out took forever. The receptionist called housekeeping to check how the room was left behind and we were kept waiting for 15 minutes while the taxi was already present.
The breakfast was very good with a lot of options

Not the hotels fault but stay clear of the in house hairdressers! Completely ruined my hair. Went for a root tint but ended up going from a blonde to a brunette!!!! Said he would refund but didn’t 😡 Roof top swimming pool does get busy & sometimes it is difficult to find a sun lounger or chair around the pool or the snack bar.
Location is just opposite the beach so great views. Comfortable beds & pillows. Friendly staff. Exceptional room service. Definitely recommend trying the burgers. Also the buffet in the restaurant was very nice with a wide variety of options. Concierge always on hand to support with Taxis or Ubers.

Relatively small TV in the room with no YouTube which was a surprise to me. Lack of coffee machine in the room, which is not typical for a 5 star hotel.

The location was perfect, opposite the beach with gorgeous views. The staff are friendly and eager to help. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice.

Pool area was a bit small (considering the size of the hotel) so it got a bit crowded. Vegan alternatives (yogurt, butter, vegan cakes) could be added to the breakfast options.
Room was great, staff was very helpful, great location by the beach. Nice gym/sauna area.
