How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bed was ok but the bedding wasn’t very comfortable. But this wasn’t a major issue

Streets can get noisy at times but that's the price you pay for staying in that area. Some facilities looked rather old.
Good/busy location, second line from Copacabana beach and with many businesses around. Concierge service gave a delightful experience at the end of the stay when they caught my Uber around the block in the crazy traffic and blocked roads that were a result of the Madonna Copacabana concert - great service!

Mattress was too firm but that's a minor issue.
Perfect location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely big quiet room with great bathroom and lovely view. Breakfast was perfect sized selection. Nice rooftop area.

Very small lifts, only 2 and quite compact. Roof top pool was very small and only had 3 sun loungers. Good views though.
Convenient to everything. Local restaurants and supermarkets. A stroll to Copacabana beach with some very nice beach bars. Friendly and helpful staff too.

While my stay in Copacabana had many positives, there was one aspect that fell short of expectations. The gym facilities were disappointingly basic, with outdated equipment that could benefit from renovation. As someone who values fitness and exercise during travels, this was a notable downside. I hope the management considers upgrading the gym to provide a more satisfying experience for future guests who prioritize wellness during their stay.
Our stay in Copacabana was simply fantastic. The location couldn't have been better, just a leisurely 2-minute stroll to the beach. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. Breakfast was a delightful experience with a variety of delicious options to choose from. The shower provided a refreshing and invigorating start to each day, and while the pool was satisfactory, it could perhaps benefit from some enhancements. Overall, our experience surpassed expectations, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro.

A very good hotel. Good rooms, good breakfast, clean and the service was very good. Location is very central at 2 minutes from the beach. Rooms don't have an amazing view (except from 14 Floor) but not very important for us. Thanks to them, amazing service!

Not enough room around pool for more loungers. When raining, there's nowhere to have a drink. Only saw 2 persons use gym and suggest you use this as a/c and dry alternative for bar users.

Great location a block away from the Copacabana beach and great restaurants. Restaurante at hotel served a great buffet breakfast great a la carte lunch and dinner options. The hotel staff was very helpful.
