Really comfortable and local feel hostel. Far from centro but central in the nice area of pamuhla . Gave me “lodge by the lake” vibes and I absolutely loved it. Great backyard space, nice interior space too. Very limited English overall but for me I liked that, means I found the local spot :)

The dorm for women was rather cramped, and the pillow was absolutely gross, seriously the worst thing about the place. The bathrooms and kitchen could have been cleaner, but that is the fault of other guests, as well. Just the same, I've noticed in many hostels that the cleanliness of these shared areas depends a lot on the policies / reinforcement of the hostel, though.

The staff is really helpful, great breakfast, very lovely place and surrounding neighborhood. Very reasonable price. Totally different atmosphere than the center of BH. Small town feel, very safe, quiet, laid back. I didn't use the pool but the patio and gardens were well kept, very pleasant atmosphere. All I all, an excellent and somewhat unusual opportunity, I definitely recommend it.

i have nothing in mind that i didn’t like.

i liked how close it was to the lake and the modern works of architecture. even though i don’t speak portuguese i was welcomed by staff and guests and it was a pleasant experience. everyone was so kind i really enjoyed it.

Could have had more convenient plugs for charging phone, camera, tablet (Not sure whose fault this was: the Uber to take us to airport at 5am parked in the hotel next door, and we were both waiting for each other till we found each other)

Breakfast fine, but not really special. Pool is fairly small but very welcome in the heat. Location is great: trip round the lake covers a lot of gardens and Niemeyer architecture. (Having a rental car was handy for that). Parking no problem. All-night reception meant no trouble leaving for early flight. Handy to use the shared fridge

Everything was just perfect, you get everything you need for a very good price, also very good location in pampulha if you want to get to know the area, fully recommended, staff is also very nice and helpful

Beautiful location overlooking Pampulha lake. Billi the dog is a dream, with the cutest personality. They have thought of everything a hostel could possible need. Fantastic hassle free breakfast, a gorgeous pool space and so many places to relax/work. The fridges are always stocked with beverages to buy (extra cold) especially the Xeque Mate. Just an all round 10/10 hostel. Don't think twice, you won't be disappointed. :)

People who snore like they are having their souls removed from their bodies. However, that is not the hostels fault.

The staff is super friendly. The place is really big, very spacious and clean. They have a dog named Billy who is super chill and likes his belly rubbed.

Sometimes the wifi would cut out for a bit, not sure if regular for the area, wasn't for too long.

Very nice place, good value, not cramped. In a relaxing and exercise-focused area of town - always people jogging or biking around the lake. Near the big futball stadium and a large market kinda place that had live music too on the weekend. More of a residential area with nice houses. Great to relax a few days with a pool, or if you're a digital nomad, good base. Nice kitchen and large grocery about 10 minutes walking. The people running the hostel are nice, friendly. It's a bit far from city center but there are buses that will get you close.

It is a wooden house with no soundproofing, so people walking or talking on the top floor or in the kitchen annoy your sleep.

It is right on the edge of Pampulha Lake, so it has a beautiful view. You also can walk all around the lake if you want.
