Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt's a convenient location but it's much easier and affordable to get around this island with a rental car, which Linda helped us to acquire. Brad's Car Rental directly from the airport is the way to go.
Linda & Hilton were wonderful hosts: friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We appreciated them offering a tour of the beaches and recommendations for rental agencies and activities. Their menagerie of animals is also fun.

United KingdomNothing I can comment on.
Linda and Hilton were the most increasingly hosts. They were very kind and welcoming. I felt very safe at there property as a solo female traveller. The local beach Coral beach is a 20 min walk away along a straight road, and was one of the cleanest most quiet beaches I’ve ever been to. Port Lucaya was great for restaurants especially Agave, would recommend . I shall 100% be back in the next two years to Bajamar guest house. Five stars all round!.

GermanySo the only downside I could think of is that neither the supermarket nor the beach are in comfortable walking distance. So a rental car (around 50usd/day) is recommended. There’s basically no public transportation or uber, keep that in mind. So with a car it’s like 4min to both supermarket and beach but by foot it’s minimum 30-45min. But Linda drove us for a small gas fee to all places we needed to get to so it’s not really an issue, just worth mentioning. Most tours (swimming with pigs, sunset cruises) pick you up at the door anyways. If you want to discover the island all the way to the Lucaya national park and beautiful pelican point a rental car is the only way.
I don’t know where to start, it was just that amazing. Honestly we just had one week in the Bahamas (first timers) and thought a long time if we would stay just in Freeport or do some island hopping with Nassau and Exuma but staying with Linda in Freeport this entire week was the best decision ever. First of all, if you like bed and breakfast style stays with really clean and comfy rooms and your own super clean bathroom. This is it. I encourage everyone to take the 10USD/pp breakfast because Hilton’s pancakes and the fruit breakfast are insanely good. They change it daily and we loved it. You get coffee right when you wake up this way. Linda’s house is spacious, clean and full of tropical style art from her son and her family is warm and welcoming. You feel like part of the family right away. The best part was the close-by Coral Beach and the bar LaRoc next to it. It looks like a Bahamas postcard. Don’t miss the Fish Fry every Wednesday at Smith Point. We would stay with Linda every single time if we could!! There’s not a single thing that we didn’t like.

AustraliaNothing, we had no complaints at all.
Linda was the perfect host, she picked us up from the airport, helped us organise things with her trusted contacts, it was the perfect balance of a hotel stay but with proper Bahemian culture. We had all the space and privacy we needed, but also had her to chat with when wanted. Every morning she cooks a beautiful big breakfast for you to start your day. Linda had so much knowledge on the local area and places to go and was so helpful to us. It had all the amenities of a hotel but also felt like home. Our room and bathroom were spotless clean, we had access to kitchen & fridge if required. Can't wait to come back and would highly recommend staying here to everyone! Make sure you ask for Hiltons pancakes, they are the best!

Bahamasnever stayed in a room in the house before, but we had our own bathroom. also had to pay extra for a/c but it was still lower than all the hotels! We didn’t realize it wasn’t totally private until we got there. but after talking with the hosts decided to stay, they were very nice! Freeport economy is still recovering after Dorian, so we were glad to help individuals.
the hosts were great.

NetherlandsLinda and Hilton are amazing hosts. They made me feel at home immediately even though I booked very last minute. The room is absolutely amazing with enough space and a very comfortable bed. Linda and Hilton gave a lot of advice on what to do and where to go on the island and even arranged a rental bike for me the same day I arrived. Also they are happy to help you by giving a ride to the bike shop, the airport or the ferry. The location is pretty central, as you can get to the market place and the beach within 10 minutes on the bike. Walking would be longer, but still the supermarket is about 15 minutes away on foot. Overall a great experience!

This Bed & Breakfast place is truly a jewel. Linda & Hilton are wonderful hosts who made me feel welcome throughout my stay of three nights. I had a nice room with a comfortable bed and a private bathroom in their cozy house which is also home for some beautiful parrots, a sweet cat, and a friendly dog. I went for long walks every day but you may want to rent a car to see more of the island.

United StatesThis place is a gem. Delicious coffee and Mr. Evans's home-cooked breakfast served up hot in the beautiful, colorful front room. Mrs. Evans's rescue birds chirping and talking happily. The dog Sport quick to say hello. A clean and bright and airy room to sleep in, and a clean private bathroom. The conversation was always pleasant when offered, and privacy completely respected. The location is central to everything in Freeport, and white sand beaches await east, west, or just a very short drive south.

I fully enjoyed my stay with Linda & Hilton. They are such warm and welcoming people. Had my own big room with closet and private bathroom. Lovely homemade breakfast everyday and free use of the kitchen and a comfortable front porch. They provided great tips on what to see and where to find whatever you needed. I would highly recommend Bajamar to anyone traveling to Grand Bahama.

GermanyEverything at Bajamar was very good. The only things which were annoying were outside of Lindas and Hiltons control. There are very few sidewalks in Freeport, so getting a car or being " very brave" are your only options to get from A to B. I did not get a car, so walking with a flash light after sun down was a must do, to avoid getting hit by a car. This is a general problem in the whole city and most likely the whole island.
This is way better than a normal bed and breakfast. You get your own a part of a very nice house (big bedroom and bathroom). And you can use the kitchen and even get your own fridge. The owners talk to you and are very nice. It is almost like you are visiting your aunt or grandmother. Linda will make your breakfast, drive you to the airport and is very sweet and helpful. The same is true for her husband Hilton. You get to know very nice locals. The next beach is coral beach, which is wonderful beach. Sand, warm ocean water, clean and nice vegetation.
