Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff are a mixed bag- some, such as Starlene, were brilliant, polite, friendly and helpful. However, service from some is probably in need of some work. For example, walking up to reception, or into the restaurant, you are stood waiting whilst they deliberately ignore you/ refuse to engage. Whilst it certainly didn't make a difference to the overall enjoyment to our stay, it definitely reduced the amount of time that we spent in the restaurant and, ultimately, meant we were spending money elsewhere.
Our villa was excellent, right on the beach, and had everything we needed. However, the main attraction is the beach, which was incredible.

United StatesNothing of any note. We would have loved an ice maker in the room.
Cute beach cabanas just steps from the ocean. The staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful, they make you feel special and right at home. The grounds and the beach were impeccably clean, this is the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen! We’ve been to some gorgeous places: Fiji, Bora Bora, BVI’s, and all over the Caribbean, but this beats them all. The water is crystal clear and bright blue, the sand is powdery white. Heavenly!

United StatesThe only thing I would have liked was a small microwave or toaster oven. There were a couple of times we had leftovers from meals and no way to reheat.
Amazing views, spacious bungalow for our family of 5. We loved the activities that were available. The staff was top notch and we felt so welcome.

CanadaThe portions at dinner were more than generous. We ended up sharing a main dish most evenings and that still ended up being a significant amount of food, especially the pasta items.
We liked the location. Just the resort by itself, a terrific sandy beach, without any kind of garbage, all that beautiful turquoise water in front of us, the peace and quiet by 9pm, and did not mind the absence of a tv.

CanadaThe only downside was too much Whitney Houston and Michael Bolton playing in the restaurant…
The beach was fantastic, sort white sand and clear turquoise water. There were kayaks and paddle boards and the water was calm. one day I saw two dolphins from the beach. We paddled around into the lagoon area north of the resort and saw starfish, stingrays and small sharks. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff we helpful. There are bikes available which we used to bike to the Columbus monument (11km return). We also rented a car to see some of the other sights of the island. One highlight was seeing the sharks feeding at Flying Fish marina in Clarence Town when the fishing boats clean their fish and throw the scraps in the water.

United StatesI wish long island has direct flights from the US. The resort requires another flight from Nassau.
This is the most gorgeous beach I've ever seen and been to in my entire life!! Exceptional resort, and experience. Incredible nature, something that you simply call paradise on earth. White sand, Pool like water, crystal clear with incredible temperature. Fascinating resort, and nature... words can't express enough! As soon as we step in the hotel, we were welcomed by the manager Matt who offered us cold water bottles on a warm day. Check in was very smooth, and you could already feel the amazing vibe of the place from the lobby. We requested a quiet room/bungalow but honestly the whole resort is just quiet and relaxing, no need for special requests. Food was beyond phenomenal, everything was super delicious and staff are all very friendly. One of the most iconic trips in my life, and one of the most special places on earth.

CanadaWe stayed there about 15 years ago. I doubt anything was updated since then. The rooms are extremely basic which is fine however the dark cold lighting and the damp smelling linens made our night uncomfortable. We were booked for 2 nights and left after one. My wife was not feeling well and the uncomfortable room did not help things.

Italy- No full transparency on costs. - Being litterally blocked in that location with no other viable options for food. - Had to pay for some "fancy" extras. About the trip to see the pigs, we've been told the cost was of 550$ for each boat (we were two families of 4 people). We got only one boat with a broken engine that was not working fine, so we had to reduce the journey: nonetheless we had to pay 830$ due to a different "formula" used for the calculation. Not fair, neither honest. - Some food is always missing. - Meal plan is crazy expensive, especially compared with what you get. A room+meal plan, with clear prices (including taxes) would be better. Reduced (for real) prices for the resort's guest would be appreciated.
The site is amazing, one of the best beaches and seas ever. The staff, especially the native people, is wonderful: always trying to accomodate your needs and always willing to do something kind for you and your family. But aside from the wonderful seashore, once you get there you're almost blocked and in the hands of the resort's managers - and they know it. You can move by bicycle should you want to ride a bit, but if you want to either eat somewhere else or make grocery shopping (in case you opted for the residence formula), you have to rent the resort's car at around 80 dollars per day. To eat there are 2 possible options: (1) if you have the residence formula, and hence a kitchen, you can buy the food at the supermarkets (there are few, with not so much choice), spending additional 80 dollars for the car each time you go there or (2) eat at the very expensive restaurant of the resort. If you don't want to eat "a la carte" (in four people you can easily spend 100$ or more for a so-and-so breakfast and 200$ or more for a lunch or a dinner). You can choose from two meal options, full (breakfast, lunch and dinner) or "modified" (breakfast and dinner) - the latter stills make a lot of money, especially if compared with what you get for that money, not considering the daily issues in getting some ingredients or food, so that it's almost impossible to get what you want from the menu. Plus there are some unavoidable extras that the managers of the resort are very good at shaping. All guests with whom I have spoken were disappointed and willing to leave if they could. It would be more transparent to propose a room+meal plan cost at reservation, or seriously downsizing the meals cost for the guests of the resort. To make it short, out of about 1500$ payed for the room, with the modified meal plan and few activities (pigs, fish trip and katamaran trial), at the end we spent more than 5500$.

United StatesOverall this was a bad experience. The food is terrible and anyway most items in the menu are unavailable, the coffee maybe the worst I've ever had in my life, the staff, especially the restaurant waiters, is extremely rude, and most of the announced activities were either unavailable, broken, or more expensive than advertised. This is SO not worth the money it costs. Also, prepare to get completely devoured by mosquitoes, including during the day, something I had never experience anywhere else in my life; you can barely enjoy the beach since you are constantly getting bit even at noon in full sunlight. Go to Brazil instead, you will have better food, be treated nicely, the beaches are just as nice, and you will spend a third of the money.
Starting with the good (because there aren't many), the beach is beautiful, the property is nice and the managers are super nice.
