Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandChobe safari lodge is a little piece of heaven on earth. You can see warthogs running around on the grass from the balcony. The view from Sidoudou bar was incredible. The food was 5 star- delicious. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Our safari guide Sampson (Samie) was excellent. His knowledge on the game drives was outstanding. We will treasure the memories of this safari for many years. Definitely would love to return!

The food was great, and our room was an amazing experience we were staying in the bush lodge, and the staff was friendly and took good care of us, tips doe if you are not big eaters like buff eaters take three rounds of food, then we recommend the restaurant in the hotel and not the buffer it will cost you less to go to the restaurant then the buffe if you eat normal portions.

AustraliaVery hard and high pillows with no other choice. Menu for dinner (A La Carte) could be updated, and breakfast was slightly better than average.
Very good value. Once the renovations are completed it’s going to be lovely. Nice to see them updating the premises.

South AfricaThere’s construction happening and my room was next door to a site where they started the hydraulic drill before 7am. I was very unhappy about that but the team Moved me to a room further away from the work. Food and drinks are expensive for locals.
Superb location! Love it and I have been going back for over a decade.

SwitzerlandWe should have been informed beforehand that the swimming pool was being refurbished. They had made another small pool but it was not very inviting. We should have been told or received a discount.
Staff were exceptional. Very friendly and efficient. Location was very good and game drives excellent

GermanyI think the restaurant could benefit from Kid’s menu. My daughter is a picky eater, and we really struggled to find her anything from the menu.
Out of all places we stayed within Zambia and Botswana this one is by far our favourite: 1. Really fantastic rooms with a view 2. Variety of great activities. And activity Center is simply a pleasure to deal with 3. Fantastic staff, especially thanks to Selelo for checking up regularly if all is to perfection 4. Location - close to the shop, banks 5. Loved the breakfast 6. On the upside for the future, once Safari lodge reception is renovated and the second swimming pool is open it will be simply a perfection.

South AfricaNot much. But some small improvements can enhance further the experience - better lighting in the Rondavel and more electronic device charging options next to the bed. An iron and ironing board in the rooms.
I have stayed in a Rondavel overseeing the river. It has an amazing view of the river and was very close to all amenities of Kasane. Wifi is strong and was great since was on a business trip, to catch up on emails. The staff are super helpful - Monga, Baqi, Lesh, Selelo delivered excellent customer service and went the extra mile. The breakfast and dinner menu were very diverse and tasty.

United KingdomThe only minor thing were the sun loungers by the pool are quite uncomfortable. They are not that nice to lie on for any extended period.
Great buffet breakfast and evening meal with plenty of choice. Had the option to go across to Chobe Bush Lodge and eat from the A La Carte menu which was great. Staff are wonderful, so polite and they can't do enough for you. We had a Safari Room which had a lovely position near to the river and a decent balcony where we would sit of an evening and enjoy the sound of the hippos and watch the warthogs grazing on the lawn. There's a nice selection of activities which can be booked on arrival. The best excursions for us were the river boat trips (3hrs) where we saw so much animal life and enjoyed the most glorious African sunset on our return down river, as well as the day trip to Vic Falls. The guides on both the river boat safari and the vehicle safari are very knowledgeable and super friendly. With the Vic Falls trip, be aware that you will need to take cash (US$) for your entry Visa into Zimbabwe (at the time of our trip it was $55 per person for a single entry Visa for a UK citizen). They do not take credit or debit cards at the border. You can use your debit/credit card for your tickets into the Vic Falls National Park. The craft market opposite the entrance to Vic Falls is very pricey and you should negotiate down by a good 40% if you do buy anything. There is a small shopping centre just walking distance from the lodge where there is a supermarket (called Choppies) and ATM cash machine. I found it safe, as did others, to wander over to the centre and withdraw cash and do some grocery shopping. There are also a few little stalls along the roadside where lovely ladies sell their arts/crafts. Very reasonable prices and they will take US$ or the local currency (Pula).

South AfricaCheck in was a protracted process. They messed up our payment and therefore we needed to pay another topup upon check out. Amounts did align however to booking amounts, so not an issue, just an inconvenience. Restaurant bar service is extremely slow, expect to wait very very long for drinks.
Rooms have been recently renovated, really great in room amenities. Welcome complimentary wine and sweets/biltong was a nice touch. Views over the river are unbelievable, especially during sun set hour. The boat cruise is an absolute must! Waiters are very friendly, Gosi served us most days and she was great.
