How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There was mold in the bathroom, and there was a humming sound in the bedroom throughout the night.
The breakfast was cold. The toast ran out. Very limited options.

compare to the Metcourt hotels in South Africa is this Metcourt very poor… The room is OK, bathroom is dodgy… breakfast very poor… Too expensive for what you get…

The breakfast was excellent and fresh. The location of the hotel is excellent, although the close proximity to the highway makes it a bit noise especially at night.

The maintenance of the place and the decor in general. For example, the air conditioning was not functional, the furniture looked old and it was falling apart.

There are a lot of broken equipment which are left lying around the hotel. These are not only an eyesore but also a hazard. They need to be removed and the place revamped to make it more attractive. The view behind the hotel is also not a pleasing side. it looks more like a dumping site.
The rooms were infested with cockroaches. There is an urgent need for fumigation.

Everything. The room had a bad smell of old unclean lenien. The basin was too small, and water was spilling all the way to the floor. The cock stopper for the basin got stuck in and couldn't be popped up to remove dirty water. The charging system for the phone 📱 couldn't hold firmly. The place needs urgent refurbishment. When I checked out, water was dripping from the ceiling in the reception area. Food delays are not necessary, we should be able to afford a buffet. My waiter forgot to bring my toast. So the place is totally horrible and should not charge so much money for accommodation and meals!

We booked on Bookings.com, only to arrive to find out that they were already fully booked and could not accomodate us. We had to go accross the street to find accomodation at a different hotel. The Hotel parking was very bad, did not feel save at all as well as the surrounding area and buildings as you enter this hotel.

Very basic menu in restaurant never any deserts available. room's not very well thought out. Traffic noise, no lift

Dislikes: This is a tired hotel. Toilet space is very small. We didn't get towels. After waiting an hour we only got 2 bath towels very reluctantly. Soundproofing is a very bad problem. Dont consider this Hotel if you want a good sleep. Cresta is a much better option.
Likes: Aircon worked well. Safe Parking

I was disappointed by the staff telling me there is no takeaway for breakfast. I had an early meeting around 0700 hours, not have enough time to seat and enjoy my breakfast.
The hotel is well located near malls. Easy to access the hotel from any place. Breakfast was excellent.

Aircon was not functioning well. There wer no mats in the room.
I loved how welcoming the staff was😍. And the location is great since its in the mall. Rooms are clean

Hotel is very tired. Mould on ceiling in bathroom. Infestation of flies in our room. This was really bad. No soap or shower gels were in our room on arrival. Only one towel aswell. Had to ask reception to get these items. Breakfast on offer was poor. Went next door to Spur in the end for Breakfast.

Everything, the location, parking space, no elevator,the stairs are old,it had rained and water was leaking from the roof, the entire first floor had a bad sewage smell, the rooms are small and cramped the shower tooo small and thw bathroom sink is outside the bathroom by the entrance of the room! breakfast was horrible, amd we had to order it first!
