Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe fact that there is only one food option and it is very expensive. The lodge will charge you $40 USD for a one way trip to town.
The grounds at the lodger were beautiful! We enjoyed the activities that we were able to book through Sweet Songs, and all of the staff were friendly. Rita was the best bartender!

United StatesSweet songs jungle lodge is in the middle of the jungle and yet is classy and has all the amenities to make your stay a great one. We enjoyed floating on the river and relaxing at the pool. The food is excellent and wildlife is abundant. We have spotted tucans outside our room. We recommend to take a guided tour of the botanical gardens nearby.

GermanyI didn’t like the room that we were first given too much since it was small and didn’t have the facilities for 4 persons.
Since we are a family of 4 we booked a room with two double beds. The room was quite small and there was only room for two people to sit on the porch. Since renovation was being done to the room next to us and my husband complained about the noise we were upgraded to the garden cottage. I wasn’t too excited about the room but the garden cottage was fantastic for us as a family. The grounds of the resort are stunning and having the choice of swimming in the pool or tubing on the river was luxury. We loved the wildlife around the lodge.

United StatesYou could easily stay on the property and do the tours but we wanted to be a bit more independent. For this reason the location was tough. The hill up to the property is not easy with a rental car. Also, the pricing was high for tours and the food. For this reason, we did a lot on our own.
This is a beautiful property that is well-maintained. You feel like you are living among the birds and howler monkeys. The pool area was very nice and the treehouse dining room was a lot of fun. The staff was outstanding and so friendly.

United StatesThere were lots of kids…..but, obviously, unless we book an adult only, it’s hard to avoid. Totally understand why, but that’s our only gripe. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, just know that.
I love that it was deep in the jungle, we saw and heard so many birds and other animals. We actually were able to see the howler monkeys and were woken up by them at four in the morning one night with their loud sounds, but it was awesome!!!

United StatesNothing! We wished we had more time to relax and take a couple more tours. It was absolutely perfect.
We loved how friendly and nice the staff were. Exceptional hospitality. The food was amazing, fresh, and a farm-to-table menu. The cocktails are delicious! Derby made just the most wonderful drinks poolside. I can not get over how much I loved the wildlife interaction at the lodge. The double casita was comfortable and we appreciated the AC. I loved the shower and how rustic the amenities are. We loved the tours arranged through the lodge: 5 star quality guides and everything felt so safe and comfortable from start to finish. We can not wait to go back to do more. We sat on the patio every morning and drank coffee and listened to the birds. I loved the pool and how relaxing the whole space was. It is quiet and the perfect place for a couple to relax. We did not stay in a treehouse, but they looked amazing. The beach space is beautiful and we took a canoe one day up the river which was serene. Overall, I can not say enough good things about this lodge. They have a philanthropy program and donate 5 BZD per night per room booked to a different program every month. They truly value their staff and the staff are just the hardest working and nicest people.

SpainThe food at the restaurant was outrageously expensive, to the point that we ended up leaving the hotel to eat elsewhere. We later found out that the original owner (before Muy Ono took over) had the same menu at HALF of the price. They simply cannot charge 15 USD for a flour tortilla with cheese and beans, it's insulting. The staff are seriously underpaid. I find it really hypocritical of Muy Ono (the owner company) to praise themselves for doing "social work" by giving money to some charities and then pay their staff below the minimum wage and have them work long hours and more than 7 days straight.
The location is truly amazing, surrounded by forest, numerous species of birds and some visiting howler monkeys. The staff made the trip truly memorable, they were kind, polite, helpful and went out of their way to help.

United StatesThe bathroom in our room was a bit old, which made it feel somewhat unclean. (Tile grout and the walls) I also think a fan in the bathroom would be good. If you don't rent a car to eat elsewhere, you should probably do the all-inclusive meal package. The town of San Ignacio is about 30 minutes away by car. It costs $70 (USD) for the shuttle to San Ignacio and back. We only ate one meal in San Ignacio (and a few others on excursions). We loved our experience overall! ❤️
The grounds are gorgeous, and the staff are exceptional❤️. Everyone was so kind! My family and I loved the infinity pool and access to the river. We used the tubes and canoes available to explore the river, which was lovely! The food was delicious. Every meal we ate was very good and they offer generous portions. The ingredients are local, and the chef is very talented. Breakfast and lunch prices are quite reasonable. We were able to see some critters, which was so cool! We saw an agouti and a toucan, lots of big insects and lizards (There are also a couple of house cats roaming around which my kids loved!) It was an amazing experience and we really enjoyed our stay!

United StatesI believe we stayed in bungalow #8. The blinds were completely see through from the outside at night. We did not realize this until our 2nd night, so who knows what passerby's may have seen as we were completely unaware of this problem. Also, 2 of our adult children stayed in bungalow #6. When we checked in we were told there was no key available for this room, but they would get one for us by morning. Turns out the only way to lock the door from the inside is with a key. So for the first night our kids stayed in an unlocked room with a chair pushed up against the door. When we asked for the key again in the morning they still did't have a key, but they said not to worry about leaving the room unlocked because no one was going to go into their room. We had to take all of their valuables out of their room and lock them in our room when the left the resort for an all day excursion. They did have a key ready for us that evening. The restaurant food is mediocre at best. For the USA $25 price I was expecting more.
We absolutely loved the location. The surroundings were so beautiful and full of life. The nearby river with tubes and canoes provided by the lodge made for a lot of family fun, with exploring and jumping off rocks into the river. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and beautiful and the pool side bar was a bonus with a very friendly bar tender. The rooms and bedding were clean and comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well to keep us cool. The city center was a 20-30 minute drive on a dirt road part of the way and was very passable by an AWD car rain or shine. (I'd even say it's passable in a 2WD car) Our family really enjoyed playing and spending time together here.

United StatesThey could have used some solar lights on the road path down to our bungalow 11. We would also suggest setting up a pool table, darts and some other outdoor activities on site for families in the building above the pool and on the surrounding grounds. the lodge is growing so this is not a criticism, just a suggestion.
Sweet Songs Lodge was beautiful! The property was just gorgeous and the staff were wonderful. They were extremely accommodating in every way.

United KingdomThe road to get to the Lodge is quite long and bumpy, it it could be resurfaced then it would make the Lodge perfect!
We couldn’t rate Sweet Songs highly enough! Everything was fantastic. First off the location is beautiful. Yes, it’s off a long and quite bumpy road but it’s totally worth it. The scenery and wildlife are incredible! It feels so peaceful within the Lodge. We stayed in a Casita which was also lovely. They had even laid out little petals across the bed when we arrived and we were given a welcome drink too. The food was also fantastic. Great options for breakfast and lunch, the dinner menu changed daily and they made great cocktails too. We saw no need to venture out of the Lodge as it had everything we needed food and drinks wise! Most importantly the staff were all so wonderful - they genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay and went out of their way to help you, but in a relaxed and friendly manner. We can’t wait to come back here!

SwitzerlandEven if we try, we cannot find anything at all we didn't like. We loved everything sooooo much! Everything was absolutely perfect!
We couldn't haven chosen better! The staff was so welcoming, we felt at home from the very first day!. All activities around are so amazing that it was hard to choose from the wide choise we were proposed at the reception. We learnt so much from the local people in few days than years in books. You definitely get the passion and the love for Belize from every person you talk to at the resort. Absolutely recommend the horse back riding tour at sunset and the caracol tour!
