Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThis place hugely exceeded our expectations. So much so that I actually told the owners they are way under charging! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was magical. This is a top end accommodation, yet the price would lead you to expect less.

CanadaWe booked it through booking.com and our questions prior to arriving were ignored or missed. This surprised us as they were so attentive when we were there. Also I wish i knew prior there was a small kitchen or we may have brought some food to offset the costs, but like I said the meals are worth it.
Quite possibly the most beautiful place we've ever stayed at. Our glass tree house was massive, completely private, surrounded by forest, clean, comfortable, modern and unique, you never need to close the curtains! The pool was thoughtfully landscaped, large enough for all 6 units to enjoy, complete with poolside service. The meals were fresh and delicious and the staff were courteous, kind and attentive. We stayed 5 nights in SI but sadly we're only able to get 2 nights at the lodge and we chose not to leave as it was a slice of paradise. It spoiled us for the remainder of our time in San Ignacio. Don't think just book it if it's available

CanadaThe road into the place was very rough. You had to travel slowly. We followed MapsMe and took the wrong entrance so there were no signs to guide us there. be sure to take the second entrance in from San Ignacio, where there is a sign.
The infinity pool and cafe and food were all exceptional. Our ‘house’ was huge and beautiful. The local artwork and craftsmanship made the entire property interesting and esthetically pleasing. The staff were friendly and helpful.

United StatesHotel is set a ways from town, but dinner at the hotel was great so we didn't mind this. Claudia was also happy to help with transfers so it was nice to take advantage of the beautiful countryside.
Food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly attentive. Claudia was fantastic - she helped us with booking tours and giving advice months in advance. I greatly appreciated her patience!

United StatesThe Villa had some ants. A little annoying, but easy to deal with as they generally steered clear and we’re only out during the evenings. That’s part of relaxing with nature in the jungle.
The food was the best we had while in Belize!

United KingdomWe spent 3 nights at Vanilla Hills and it was brilliant. The hotel arranged our transfers to and from the airport and also our covid test. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was delicious and fresh. The Signature treehouse we stayed in had an amazing outdoor shower. The pool is large and great to cool off after a long day on a tour. The staff are all really friendly and super helpful, they want to make sure you are having a great time. We are really glad we picked this hotel for our stay in San Ignacio as it felt like you were in the middle of nature. The hotel will arrange the short taxi into town for you and tours as well.

United StatesI would not even say it’s a dislike. I would have loved if the pool could’ve been heated, just for the end of the day. I’m sure it’s not required most of the time. We went in NOV and it was cool two nights.
What did I like…. Before I delve into this, I’d like to preface by stating Ive stayed in $50 a night Hostels and I’ve stayed in $500 a night hotels. And there have been none, except Vanilla Hills that have blown away my expectations Claudia and her husband have created a slice of heaven with their land. When you walk the property, you will see the vision they had. The attention to detail in construction, positioning of the private villas, and the eco friendly approach makes you feel like you’re deep in the juggle Claudia helped us with tour guides that she specifically curates. all the vendors she works with were professional and top notch. The rooms are beautifully thought out with a mixture of modern design with raw wood accents The grounds are lush and well manicured, Claudia also has Conti mundis that live on site and come out for breakfast. The food at the hotel restaurant is delicious and elevated, but don’t be scared to ask Claudia where to go and try. Last but not least, her staff. Claudia has created a team that is attentive, thoughtful and professional. We are travelers, we’ve all stayed at hotels of every level. There are few, very few, that leave you feeling wonderstruck, like this property has.

United StatesThat is was so perfect that we'll have to come back instead of going somewhere new
I kept telling Claudia "I don't usually come back to places but I think we are going to have to come back here!" What a WONDERFUL place. The entire staff (and even the cats) made us feel like friends and we felt so welcome. We stayed in the coconut treehouse--It is important to note that there is no air conditioning (I believe they will bring a window unit on request) but we were fine with the fans and the cool breezes. The outdoor shower was my favorite. I loved watching the rain and the wildlife from our treehouse. We loved our meals at the restaurant and all the love that went into the dishes prepared from local ingredients. The infinity pool is beautiful and you'll want to spend some time there, as well. It all felt like being in a fairytale. Our room was cleaned daily and we loved seeing the towel animals! They arranged everything from tours, transport, and even our covid-19 tests to return to the USA. Dankeshoen, Claudia and staff. We miss you already!

United StatesThe location was perfect! Loved how private everything was and everyone did a lovely job making sure we had anything we needed. It was just as beautiful as advertised. We loved the tropical vibes including all the greenery, birds, & animals. We were worried it would be too hot in July without an AC but it was ok. We loved the outdoor shower and sitting on our balcony. Truly romantic and perfect!

United StatesThis is a very nice property located outside of San Ignacio. It’s meant to be more of a remote, jungle experience in nice little individual lodges. It is only about a 10 minute taxi to the center of town. If you are looking to be in walking distance then better to stay in town, but if looking for a hideaway this was a very nice spot!

United StatesWould not have stayed if I had known there was no TV. First day was tube caving. Guide left my wife and I tied to ledge of rock in our tunes. He took two others our party on 1 hour trek out of cave. Did not tell us he'd be gone that long or.we would have attempted to go. Claudia would not call them and advocate for us even though she booked it $30 more than she quoted per person. Advised us to call Belize Tourism Bureau. Book Belize Caving Adventures at your own peril. Other tours Claudia booked were fine. Extra blankets in room on cold nights in Jan would have been nice without asking for them would have been nice. We were given a heater on our last night out of 5 nights because we complained. Our room was half the size of Portofino on the island and they had firesticj on TV.
Ambience in a secluded setting. Chef did excellent meals. Dining area and landscaping beautiful.

Cayman IslandsNo major issues. It's expensive but worth it. I guess there could be easier access to getting drinks when you're at the pool. You would need your own transport or be very reliant on taxis as there is nothing walkable in the area by way of amenities (apart from what is available at the lodge).
Room was great in a jungle lodge style. Excellent (though pricey) food at the restaurant, which was intimate with a great atmosphere. We really enjoyed it and the staff were very helpful in giving information about the area. Really enjoyed seeing the wild baby coatis being given breakfast!
