How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The beds had no orivacy curtains but not a major issue
I liked the breakfast and how the bathrooms and showers were there own individual cubicle and the free drinking water is invaluable in this heat

I had an amazing stay at this hostel in San Ignacio, Belize. The location was convenient, the atmosphere was chill, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was delicious. They also offered great activities like trips to the ATM cave. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting San Ignacio.

Too few bathrooms for the number of guests.
Cleanly, comfortable dorms. AC in rooms on at night (just hope you don’t get the bed directly next to the unit) and fans on each bed. Hot water, clean bathrooms. Very good breakfast. Tours offered are the cheapest you’ll find in town.

Long walk to center for street food at market, very hot city many days, could use a shade over they large breakfast table to block morning sun
Plenty of space in dorm plus lockers, personal fan And outlet, wifi good, enough shared bathrooms, areas to sit outside or inside, lots of tours and night activities like game or trivia, next to a park plus easy walk to ruins and hilltop view and swim pool, supermarket nearby, ac option, best hostel breakfast you can find

15/20 min walk into town
Super helpful staff, great breakfast, very social with stuff happening in the evening (quiz, game night etc), but you still get a good night sleep.

The breakfast bar needs to be replenished more often but that is all
A clean friendly hostel where Bubbles makes you feel at home. But a special shout out goes to Jessie. Unfortunately I had flu at the hostel and I became very dehydrated with a low bp. I kept whiteing out. Jessie in her no nonsense way got the staff to take me to hospital.. They waited for me until I said Id be a few hours but they told me to call when I needed them.. It was nice to have someone looking out for me. I cant thank Jessie and the staff enough.

There was a problem with one of the showers which caused a bit of flooding and my husband and I helped fix it and we didn't even get a thank you. Not very impressive gratitude as if we didn't help they would have needed a plumber and I mopped up water from the floor for about an hour.
The breakfast was good, room was a good size and bed was comfy.

Well located in San Ignacio and offered a lot of tours to explore the surrounding areas at good prices. The owner, Bubbles, was amazing. Good for socialising and meeting other travellers.

Manager sells you busticket to belize and san ignacio! Don't do it! Bus is absolutely a horror trip that ,takes 9h ! No toilets on the bus! In belize 25 min stop to go to toilet! Absolutely a horror trip! And to leave Mexico you wait a full 2hours at customs and you pay 40 euios to leave Mexico!!!!@@@@@@@@
Actually good place to sleep after long travels in. Busses. Clean nice kitchen,nice rooftop.

I found Mosquitos in the room,and toilet was a bit smelly.
The staffs were friendly,breakfast was nice,public area was comfortable,and they let room AC on for 24 hours was great.

When people assist you in an emergency you should appreciate their efforts.
The shower pipe broke and was literally flooding the two rooms beside the bathroom as well as the bathroom and my husband quickly jumped in to help get the water shut off and repair the shower. I spent a great deal of time mopping up the water from the rooms and we didn’t even get a thank you. Quite sad

The staff were really nice and friendly, good kitchen, breakfast was decent, the personal fans in the room are a nice touch (although mine was broken, they put on the AC)
