Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaI expected to have a bath in the room, as seen in the pictures. There was only a corner shower, which was rather small, so I did not get the relaxation moment I was expecting after my long day. Also, the owner asked me a few questions about the reason for my visit in Québec, which can be seen as harmless small talk or inquisitive. A bit expensive (150 tx incl. for the night).
The place was clean. The bed was comfortable, free wifi and mini-fridge included were appreciated. The place is well located, like 2 kms from the Université Laval. Free breakfast was also appreciated. The street which the B&B is on is not a major one, so the area is quite quiet, even if we are located one street away from the Boulevard Ste-Foy.

CanadaNothing!
Marie was a really kind and wonderful host. She made sure to take care of us and gave us plenty of good advice near the area. The value of our stay was great. The Auberge was very quiet. We had a big bedroom with our own shower, and bathroom. There is access to the kitchen all day. There is a variety of snacks, juice, fruit, tea, coffee available throughout the day. Breakfast was good. We didn't need to wake up at a certain time. When we were ready. There was pre prepared food in the fridge where we could help ourselves. There was a selection of breakfast sandwiches, crêpes, waffles, muffins, yoghurt, pre portioned fruit. It's a good system because it meant that we can go at our own pace and check out when we needed to. We arrived by car. The auberge requested for us to come at 4pm - 6pm which was alright with us. If we came later, that is alright too as the key will be left at a certain area but it's important to contact the Auberge. Arriving by car meant that the location was actually great for cars. Coming from Montreal, it was an easy drive from the highway yet was tucked away in a place that was really quiet. The Auberge itself is very quiet and it's because it's in a nice neighborhood. At the same time. It was an easy drive to get to Old Quebec area. Less than 15 minutes. Musee de beau arts de Quebec was 7 minutes by driving away. Bois de Coulonge is also walking distance. The night we stayed. We decided to walk to Bois de Coulonge. And we were able to find really good food nearby. There is a handful just a few minutes away. But we went to La Chop Gobline and recommend it for people who like the vibe. There were also a lot of buses in the area as mentioned by other reviewers meaning there's no need to drive to Quebec city as the bus doesn't take too long.

United StatesThe secondary bed ("futon") was serviceable, but a bit sagging and not as comfortable as could be hoped. For travelers who enjoy meeting the other guests, the serve-yourself breakfast meant that didn't happen.
Beautiful decorations, plenty of space (especially the bathroom), and comfortable bed. The kitchen was nicely stocked for serve-yourself breakfasts (very flexible!).

United StatesThere was absolutely nothing that we didn’t like!
We loved everything about our stay here. It was about 15 minutes out of Old Quebec City, but it was so nice to stay in a neighborhood. It was quiet and cozy. There were plenty of stores within walking distance for things like groceries and food. We had the room with the living room and bedroom and it was a great size. The bed was super comfortable and the couch folded out to a queen bed. The bathroom was huge and super nice. The host, Marie, welcomed us by making us a cup of coffee, pulling out a map, and showing us all of the great things to see in Quebec City. She was adorable and so friendly. She was genuinely excited to have us there and you could tell she just loved her job! We were there for our honeymoon/Christmas and she made us a little gift! She was the best part of the stay! Literally everything was amazing!

CanadaI would have loved to have the option to check in sooner than 4pm.
Marie was very welcoming and goes out of her way to make you feel special. We stayed in the suite which would also be excellent for a family as it includes a little kitchenette. We loved having access to breakfast at whatever time and the kitchen was fully stocked with anything and everything you could need. Everything was very clean and Marie keeps the property tidy. I loved the extra special touch of having the country flags of the visitors in the kitchen.
