unsightly cigarette burns on toilet seat, seat should be changed. Intruding upper wall in shower reduces space for arm movement. Bathroom did not appear to have been thoroughly clened at times. Inconvenient placement of clothes closet; some hooks for hanging coats near the entry door would be good. In the hallway near the elevator, food, possibly dropped by a child, remained there. Perhaps this was due to staffing shortages over the holidays. On a couple of nights, there were too many loud voices in the hallway and/or adjacent rooms.

Doors to other guest rooms were very loud when being closed.....made for poor sleeping. Bathroom needed maintenance. Sink was plugged and ceiling had evident water damage.

Waitress ignored us the first day for far too long. Second day, a different waitress spent about 10 minutes showing her photos to another table before bringing us menus. Friends and family should not be allowed behind the counter or in the kitchen. One waitress was feeding a baby behind the counter. Supper - a man was cleaning the carpet while we were having our dinner. This should be done after hours or when no customers are there. A couple were in the hall of floor 3 fighting at 2:00 a.m. Vomit on the carpet outside the elevator on floor 3 was not cleaned up.

There was commotion on our floor at midnight on two of the nights that we stayed. Heavy shouting, loud banging on the door of the room opposite ours. A drunk had got through security and made a hell of a noise. The situation was not handled properly by the Hotel staff. In fact nobody stopped that man. He went after a while on his own. Security was totally lax and compromised.

not handicap accessible .. very difficult to get around .. no ramp to get in .. cement stairs .. security guard watched from window by the door as we struggled to get up the stairs and into building .. was another person o who was staying there that eventually helped us.

The building seems a bit dated and had a slightly unpleasant odour in the halls and stairwells, but the room seemed fine. Could have had some tea or hot chocolate to go with the coffee. Maybe a channel guide for the TV would be handy.

The room was very clean (even under the beds!), the location was great for the event at First Ontario Centre, and the breakfast the next morning was good and reasonably priced. All staff were courteous and easy to understand. The mini fridge, TV and coffee maker worked.

FOLLOW UP TO INITIAL REVIEW> The staff was very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the follow-up from the Hotel apologizing for the issue with noise. Great customer service in that regard. Based on this would consider staying again.

Our room 227 was right above the restaurant. We could hear them prepping in the morning (6am) and we could hear music when they were cleaning and closing at night. I didn't complain because they were just doing their jobs and nothing they can control. I would just request a different room in the future. And just a suggestion. The waitress gave us great service but you could hear openly complain about grievances she had with management. She may just want to keep that to herself when on the job.
