How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

An excellent Bed and Breakfast, all round. The room was comfortable,roomy and spotlessly clean. The host was very helpful and the breakfasts were delicious, especially the Dutch pancakes.

- Nothing to dislike. Our stay was great!
-The location is lovely. Very close walk to the beach and some restaurants. -The property is also very charming as they grow produce as well. - The rooms were very clean and comfortable. - The breakfasts were filling and delicious. - The host , Marieke, was very welcoming and friendly. - This is a gem in Kelowna. I would 100% recommend to friends and family. My partner and I hope to be back soon.

Marieke and James were extraordinary with us. We had a lovely stay in their b&b and are completely satisfied with the service we received. The breakfasts were delicious and copious. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Marieke is an exceptional host. She looked after us as if we were family. We strongly recommend this b&b. We already miss these lovely people.

Nice accommodation. Clean premises. Delicious and filling, truly homemade breakfast. Very friendly hosts, ready to go the extra mile to help their guests. Great location. I only wish it was a pet-friendly accommodation so I could travel to Kelowna more and take my dog. Other than that, everything was amazing!
Marieke was an amazing host. She was accommodating and friendly. And the fact that she actually made us a delicious homemade Dutch breakfast was a huge bonus! The rooms were very comfortable and we also had access to the kitchen. Everything was very clean and comfortable, our host was amazing and we will definitely be returning soon.

We wish the mattress was firmer as the one we slept in was very soft on one side. Other than that the room was very neat and clean. The property is in a quite locality away from the city. One would definitely need a car if staying here.
Marieke and James are excellent host. They gave us a warm welcome and guided us on what to do during our stay. The place was neat and clean. Marieke served Dutch pancakes one day for breakfast and next day we had Dutch eggs. Fruits, juice, tea/coffee, toast and preserves were served daily.

The owners and the approach to running and setting up this charming place. Marieke and James were delightful hosts, provided useful tips and lively conversation. Breakfasts were delicious and healthy. Probably our best ever B&B experience ever.

Not the fault of owner, but dogs at nearby dog boarding start barking bright and early.
Breakfast was great! Homemade and generous-in fact there was no way we were able to finish it all. Delicious and different. Not just your usual eggs and toast.

That we did not have more time to stay and enjoy this beautiful home and place, but we will come back one day.
Our experience exceeded our expectations. I would like to say thank you Marieke for the warm welcome and for making us feel at home. Your home is truly filled with lots of love and hospitality and it was a pleasure to be your guests. Everything you offered us during our stay exceeded our expectations and we are glad we had the opportunity to talk with you as well as play with the cats and enjoy the peace and quiet of your home. We will be happy to be your guests again. To your future guests, we would say do not hesitate to book your stay at All Seasons B&B, you will not regret. Marieke is amazing, it was lovely talking to her and she made us feel like friends who were visiting her not just guests. Her home is clean, made with love and style and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, I have to admin that I challenged Marieke to prepare vegan breakfast but that did not bother her at all. If we visit Kelowna one day again, this will be our place to stay, with no doubt.
