How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Clean, friendly and beautiful. They were able to accommodate all dietary restrictions (vegan and vegetarian). It was excellent! Very close to downtown NOTL, in a quiet and safe area.

The feel or atmosphere: it is more like a hotel than a home. In a B & B I expect the feel of being in a home.

Arnica B&B is located in a residential area a short walk from the main street, restaurants, and shopping. Other attractions - wineries, Fort George, even Niagara Falls- are an easy drive away. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, overlooking a lovely garden. There was a seating area and balcony available for guests use. Now to the best part: the breakfasts were amazing! Delicious, filling, and all fresh ingredients. As an added bonus, Dan gave us fresh muffins and a baggie to take with us for a snack later n the day. Our host, Dan, was wonderful: friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our conversations in the morning before we headed out for the day.

10 out of 10 for cleanliness ... The cleanest place we've ever stayed. Breakfast was delicious and healthy.
It's difficult to find any fault. The early morning sound of the "bangs" scaring the birds from nearby vineyards is about the only downside.

A beautiful bed and breakfast. The room was huge and incredibly comfortable. Our bathroom had a lovely jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was also plentiful and tasty. Thank you for a great stay!

Our stay was phenomenal. Breakfasts were delicious. Dan and Linda were fantastic hosts. The room was super clean and so comfortable. Perfect weekend! It’s so close to everything, and the neighbourhood was so pleasant to explore.

We loved everything. We would not have changed a single thing at all.
Dan & Linda are fantastic hosts that take very good care of their Bed & Breakfast. They live on-site but it felt like we were alone in the place!! Their breakfast was superb, not overwhelming in any way. The muffins, I could rave on and on for days! Take a few minutes to chit-chat with them, they themselves have a wealth of knowledge and culture to share. Highly recommend staying at their place!!!

That I didn’t have time to become better acquainted with proprietor/owners Dan and Linda. Charming people.
Breakfast was excellent. Coffee, juice, yogurt with fresh peach slices, first-class eggs Benedict, home-made muffins, lovely table setting.

I have absolutely nothing to complain about :)
The breakfast provide by Dan and is lovely wife Linda was top notch and so much better than some of the hotels that me and my hubby stayed at. Dan accommodated all of my food request's based on my allergies. Service was exceptional...The ambience and rooms were exceptionally clean and we were relaxed and comfortable. I felt as though I had never left my own home....This is huge...Our next visit to Niagara on the lake..We will definitely stay at Arnica Bed & Breakfast

Friendliness of the owners. Seemed very quiet and a little cold/ anxious. Only complaint was not enough water, no extra bottled water or filtered water available in common area, only 2 bottles in the room. Also, would have been nicer to have something other than powdered creamer by the keurig in common area but not a huge deal. Also, jacuzzi tub was broken which was a bummer.
Breakfast was delicious, muffins were a nice touch and plenty left over to have later or take home.
