I didn't like the smell of the antique unit. I eventually became nose blind to it. Corners could use a good scrubbing, but it adds to the character. I also couldn't plug the tub for a bath.

The elevator was my absolute favorite. The character of the suite and the old fuse box was pretty neat. I liked the pressure of the shower. Beds were super comfy.

Location great, noisey from skytrain (nothing they can do about that), parking is the biggest pain to deal with.

I didn't like the noise from the street and the SkyTrain, and the mouse traps. Yes built in 1910 not up to today's standards as the windows are still original.

Beautiful old building and big rooms, Big TV The bottle of wine was nice. Free parking. Nice to experience for a night.

Right beside sky train, very noisy. Mattress needs to be replaced, seriously sagging in the middle.

Great location, liked the old world decor.

It's not a fault of the hotel owner at all; however, there is a shelter of some sort. There were people sitting/camping on the sidewalk right behind the hotel. If I were not staying with my husband, I would've felt uncomfortable walking around the facility at night.

The host was super attentive, Our room had a view of the river, and it was enormous! The facility is close to the skytrain station, which made traveling to Vancouver and other neighbouring cities so easy.

Heritage building in old section of town is acceptable for independent travellers

It located in an old section of town where there were lots of homeless & drug users. It’s a heritage building with lots of charm although the furnishings are dated & a bit uncomfortable. There is free parking in the back of the building, although limited. Some folks who don’t use ear plugs would have a difficult time sleeping with the sky train going by every 5 minutes. Not sure if there is any on site staff. Didn’t feel like there was any one close by to ask questions. Definitely for the independent traveller & not needing any support.

It was a short walk to the Skytrain station although the sky train went right beside the building. It was clean with free parking. There was an elevator so one doesn’t have to walk up 5 flights of stairs.

The elevator was very old and operation seem risky. Parking lot was small.

I like the layout of the apt/room. the close proximity to train station. There was no front desk.

Only the noise of the monorail.

When you step into this building, you have entered the history of Canada and Vancouver. A building 112 years old (so far) and very beautiful. I am very happy to have spent a night in this building. The host who lives in this house with his wife is very kind and generous. I wish health to both of them. Little bit noise of from the train but only till 1 am.

The stove top had not been cleaned in a Very long time. There was a mouse but that has to be expected in an old heritage building. There was parking but it was smack in the middle oh a homeless encampment. On the day I left there were two fellows who had set up there shelter in the front entry way and were not going to move. That was interesting.

It was like stepping back into time. If you like old world Edwardian architecture and being 1 block from downtown New Westminster it's the place for you. A whole apartment for a very reasonable price. Very large bedroom and a lovely living room and dining room. A big claw foot tub that you could almost swim in. It is not fancy but it has an old world charm and the oldest elevator in Vancouver.

The VCR wasn't hooked up, and it had no cables. The provided videos were useless. The wooden floors were very noisy. The claw footed bathtub had no stopper, leaving my husband's desire to have a bath thwarted.

We liked the ambiance. The enormous suite was nicely furnished in a style suitable for a building built in 1912.

The hotel is right under the Skytrain. this is convenient for taking the Skytrain places as the boarding platform is right there, but less convenient if you are a light sleeper! Also, the hot water was seriously lacking. I'm not sure if we just picked times in which everyone was showering or what, but it took forever to heat up and even then it wasn't that hot.

We weren't able to make check in on time due to ferries! The Hotel was in contact with us and us with them , and a lovely lady stayed till we could get there. she told us a little about the history of the building including the elevator which is the oldest in the area! very nice and willing to show and explain things.

The elevator is cool but if someone doesn’t close it properly you have to take the stairs…
