Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe surrounding area didn't feel super safe. I was advised to empty out my car or hide anything that could be sold.
The vibes were good! The staff were friendly and honest. I didn't check out the bar and restaurant but it seemed lively and the menu looked great.

CanadaTruthfully the only comment I can give against the Waldorf is the neighborhood it's located in, East Vancouver is a little rough and I'm sure can be uncomfortable for some people. That being said, that's not really the fault of the Waldorf, just one of the realities of Vancouver.
The Waldorf while being an older building and showing it's age, also carries with a lot of character. It's easy enough to get to via public transit from downtown. It's clean, and stocked with all the expected amenities. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Really for the price point and location there wasn't anything to complain about. The Waldorf is nothing fancy, but perfectly exceptional for it's weight class.

BrazilVery noisy (okay, they say at the description that there is a nightclub nearby), but there was a window pretty close to our room, we could hear the people having party out loud and it was after midnight. Plus, there is no breakfast included, and I thought a little bit expensive to buy it at the restaurant. :/
The room was comfortable, it was clean, the shampoo was veeery good, seriously, the best I've ever tried in hotels! hahaha Besides the "bad" points, I would stay there again for sure. We arrived around 8pm and the hotel receptionist was very kind!

United KingdomNo microwave, the shower is very tiny and the mattress wasn’t the most comfortable I slept on. Yet, I think this was a great value room and I would definitely be back!
Nice clean hotel. The room was very small but had great storage space, a large closet, a safe box, several mirrors, a fridge, chest of drawers, a coffee machine, and a desk. So there was a very clever use of space. Staff were very helpful and the wifi worked great! Lastly, there is no breakfast provided but you have a discount at a bar attached to the hotel, and there are supermarkets around. Highly recommended!

United KingdomIt is not a picturesque part of Vancouver, but it does have a very good bus service into the city centre.
Staff were very helpful, and let us leave our luggage at 9 in the morning, even though we could not check in until early afternoon. The hotel has several bad reviews due to the drug addicts in the street and also noise. We found the hotel quite quiet although we were on a Sunday night so maybe that is quieter. There are a few drug addicts in the nearby streets, but Vancouver has a bad drug problem and there are many many more drug addicts closer to the city centre. The few addicts near the hotel did not cause any problems although it would be better if they were not there. The hotel keeps its doors locked so I don't think it is a security issue. I would say don't let it put you off the hotel.

United StatesThe bed is so light that it slides away from the wall and the 2 thin pillows provided made lounging difficult and not very comfortable for a couple. I wish the restaurants and bar had been open—that would have been super convenient as we were staying there before boarding our Alaskan cruise.
The staff are all helpful and courteous, the room was inexpensive for Vancouver, perfectly clean and the location, although on E Hastings, felt safe and was a great point for Ubering to various Vancouver attractions. It was also quiet during the week as events only occur on weekends.

SingaporeThe room is very small and there is no elevator so you have to carry up your luggage. The music can get very loud on Friday & Saturday nights till 2 a.m from the pub next door. Young people will love the hotel but older folks may find it a tight squeeze.
A good place to stay if you’re on a budget & parking is free. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel and there are supermarkets are just across the road.

United StatesA little sad but not surprised that there was no microwave, but mostly frustrated by the highly antiquated electrical system. I struggled to charge devices. I know it's an historic location but I really think they need to have some form of compromise or someone might do something stupid and cause a real problem.
I was very happy that there was a minifridge. The coffee/tea machine was helpful for tea, the safe and instructions to use it were clear. Bed comfy. The location was perfect for my needs; convenience store, Ethiopian restaurant, and indigenous gift shop nearby, many transit lines to downtown and elsewhere.

AustraliaI didn't need to use the earplugs as couldn't hear the music from the nightclub. Felt like I missed out on a good night as a result...lol.
Modestly decorated hotel at a reasonable price, close to public transport, free secure parking and clean. They even supplied earplugs to buffer the noise of the local night club.

CanadaBathroom was old including the TP. The hallway was not cleaned yet. The bus stop glass was busted out which made me concerned for my car in the unsecured parking.
Once you got into the room it was ok. Guy at the front was good. He was really helpful to my partner as we came from out of town and she was here for a business appointment.
