I thought the place could use a few more lamps. Its a bit dim for reading at times.

Finding a rent was long and hard. I stayed more than a month and had an affordable and cozy stay down town within walkable distance to everything.

There's nothing I did not like, but a TV would be nice.

Cozy small traveler's lodge. It was clean. Checking in is simple and you get a code to unlock the door so you can come and go as you please even if the owner is absent. The owner is very nice and friendly. I liked that we have access to a fridge and kitchen and make meals like at home. There's tables outside and balconies in back. The back has a small grass yard with trees.

I didn’t see any staff members when I arrived. No one greeted me or was there for “check out”. I had to read what room I was in on a paper at the front desk and let myself in.

The pleasant and busy proprietor needs to remember to knock and wait a moment or two before entering the female dorm.

Fair warning - the showers are downstairs, however this is not that unusual for a youth hostel.

This is a comfortable and family-friendly hostel, with a great location a short walk from the waterfront, restaurants and shops. Ask the owner Marco about his new boat tours - we went along the St. Lawrence and St. Maurice rivers and even had the opportunity to go inner-tubing.

Location is close to the centre of town. Very homely place to stay, with a large living room with several couches, a dinner table, a kitchen with a spacious fridge with sliding doors. Very relaxed atmosphere. Downstairs you will find a washer and a dryer.

I have been to better hostels but this one got the job done for the price. I did'nt interact with the staff, he sent me a message to call him when I arrived, so that call was my only interaction with a worker.

No private parking. Street only free parking on weekends. Paid public parking across the street.

Basic accommodation being a youth hostel. Room was clean and bed confy. Private toilet and in-room separate vanity. Share kitchen. Showers in basement. Overall ok and quiet for one night stay for the price. Close to downtown.

It ´s about the people i met They are bossing me around. Another lady snored all night. I cannot sleep!!! Had to sleep on sofa. It was horrible. They should have a fan with background noise to help this type of things. This time, the facility was not too clean. I guess it depends on the guests.

The current check-in system was rubbish. Booking.com gave me the door code and there was the message on the door telling me I had to phone Marco to complete the check-in process. However, this is particularly hard for international travellers as phone sims don't allow for making phone calls. I ended up having to find another phone number through booking.com, which I texted - and never got a response to - before WhatsApp calling where I finally talked to Marco. The check-in process was then completed on the phone which involved a very brief "tour" of the place. Another major negative that I have with this hostel is the severe lack of security. There is no lock on the door meaning anyone can just walk in. This is especially unnerving as there is no locker in the room to store valuables, like passport or devices. This meant I ended up carrying them around with me the whole time as I didn't feel comfortable leaving them. It was also unnerving being a solo traveller and female, was when Marco randomly walked into the room unannounced. I understand that he was trying to be friendly, but it came across slightly weird, especially without first knocking.

One of the best things about the hostel was its location in that it was close to the town centre. The washing machine and dryer was also very accessible (and free).

The decor was very nice. The place was clean and quiet. I would highly recommend it. As an added bonus, there is a great restaurant across the street.
