Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was clean, and access to the unit was easy. Bathroom was clean. No issues with amenities, as the unit is quite minimal. The owner was lovely.

CanadaTiny bit noisy when we tried to sleep in the afternoon, with loud talking and piano. But not usually a problem if you just sleep at normal times :)
The hosts were kind, the room was really really cozy, and this place is right in the downtown close to the main street and lots of restaurants and tourist shops. There is also a heated toilet seat, which we loved!!

CanadaThere is no lock to the room from outside. So I couldn’t lock the room from outside. It would be better if there is a lock to the room. There were many rooms. I am not sure about that. Other than that everything is good.
She was very helpful. I was in a work trip. However, I forgot to take the bill when I check-out. However, even after few days, when I asked her the bill; she sent me without any hesitation.

CanadaMy bedding was not clean, there were big bags of garbage piled up in the kitchen, other guests were noisy all night showering and talking etc at 3am. I would rather have stayed on a bench at the airport.

CanadaThe room we stayed in had no window in. The bathroom shared downstairs with the family. Lady of the home had time of month and feminine hygiene products left in trash can with no lid. No mirror in the bathroom. No breakfast is served even though it is sold and advertised as a "B&B". TV in living room area but no comfortable chairs in which to watch it. Can sit at the dining room table. Family toothbrushes and hair brushes in the bathroom. Hair on the floor. There was no other hotel rooms available in the whole of YK, so were glad for a place to stay, but if I can avoid staying there again, I will.
Location was the best about the place. The bedding was clean.

United StatesThis is advertised as as bed & breakfast. When you walk in the door, there is a list and on it is stated that No breakfast is served. You can have coffee or tea. Each room in the house is let out to different people. We were next to some that came in a 2am and didn't go to bed before 5:30am, walking up and down the hallway, banging door, showering, boiling the kettle. I know this is not the fault of the B&B but just a warning that you are very definitely sharing and quiet hours are not upheld. The lady did give us a discount on the 2nd night due to the disturbance. The hostess was knocking on the door while we were still sleeping to get paid. The 2nd night we stayed we were in a room downstairs with no window (pretty sure that isn't even legal) The family sleep at the end of the hallway separated by a sheet draped up. We used the family bathroom which had hair all over the floor. The uncovered garbage can showed that "it was that time of month" for someone using it. There was no mirror on the wall. Books all down the hallway, so navigating to the bathroom is hazardous. The rooms furnishing is rudimentary to say the least - consist of 2 twin beds and a small night table. No closet, no place to put your suitcase. We were glad of a bed as we phoned multiple times trying to get a hotel room and none were available at any hotel, so accommodation is premium in Yellowknife.
The room and bedding were clean.

FranceThis bnb is run by a Chinese family with a warm heart, burning hot in the cold north Canada. They will tell you everything straight like nobody else. If you are loud or talk too much, they will tell you to shut up. When they have reservations they give their room to you and let you use the bathroom first. One young son was always waiting in front of the computer with a curtain as his only place to relax and hide a bit. They also keep their private belongings in some suitcases near the stairs, never disturbing nobody. If you live in the same world where making money is a war, please think about their feelings. Would you choose this lifestyle in YK ? You would probably experience what a family is here better than nowhere. Family fights, family is happy, this is human thing more than business. So please book here to bring some happiness to them. If you're not happy, if you snore at night, or if it ever crossed your mind that a customer needs special services please book a different place.
