Fantastic Azur hotel and staff, but misleading and false advertising by Booking.com.

My complaint is that the hotel is not as advertised on Booking.com. This is an issue with Booking.com, not the hotel. Booking lists among the facilities/amenities “pool, gym, rooftop patio”. The hotel DOES NOT have a pool or gym as advertised. This is a major concern for me as I specifically wanted a hotel with a pool (for the kids) AND a gym as I am currently in the middle of a personal fitness challenge. The hotel does attempt to accommodate by providing access to a nearby gym, however, that gym does not open until 8am and was a block away. This may sound frivolous to some, but when traveling with children the only time to workout is before they wake up. We weee very disappointed with the false advertising and will be looking to rectify this situation with Booking.com. The “rooftop patio” does exist and was another main reason for our booking. However, when we arrived we were notified that it was not available due to construction. This information was not made clear to us when making our reservations on Booking. We intentionally did not pick other hotels that had construction going on or restaurants closed and chose Azur because both the rooftop patio and restaurant were going to be accessible. Again, traveling with kids, the rooftop area would have provided the outside space necessary to keep kids entertained without having to walk or drive to somewhere else for them to get out of the hotel room. This was very disappointing.

Location was great, hotel was updated and clean, staff was absolutely excellent, attentive, and very kind to the children. The staff was the best part of our stay.

The rooftop restaurant/patio wasn’t open yet. Might have to stay again to check that out. Also valet was expensive and no other self parking options

Location is great! Within walking distance to a lot of amenitites

I didn’t need it but I heard the gym is off-site so that might not be so convenient for some. No breakfast included.

Location was super convenient- a straight short walk (5min) to the conference Center and water. While not a big hotel, I liked the decor, room was quiet, beds were comfy and I got a free upgrade! There’s also a Tim Horton right next door. I also recommend the restaurant next door (Hydra)!

The AZUR is good value for money in hyper-expensive Vancouver. It is short walk from the Burred St station, which might interest people travelling from Whistler who want to avoid the cost of the Hyatt. Location is convenient to all downtown amenities.

It was hard to find at first from street level. I missed the sign above for the hotel. It’s easy to spot if you’re driving by or across the street but not at ground level.

It’s a beautiful hotel. Every member of their staff were attentive and friendly. Location was great and the food was delicious.

I have not received the bill and was told to get it through booking.com upon departure. Since booking bills are not accepted as official bills for refund by the workplace, I tried to reach out hotel through e-mails. No one of my e-mails were responded. I see one extra fee in my card statement and still do not know why I am being charged for that.

The bar, restaurant & roof top terrace not yet open so had to go outside for meals/ drinks. Lights in the room had a mind of their own and as a result unable to get a good night’s sleep. No Wi-Fi, had to go to front desk to obtain staff Wi-Fi Also the phone in room did not work as pre-set numbers not available. Fire Alarm went off one morning/ comms for which was non existent. Sadly we also had a flood in the bathroom ad marble surround did not have appropriate drain/away. Other than that/-All good

The location was great & the room had many deluxe features, sadly most of which were not working
