Back Home Bed and Breakfast was one of the best NS vacation spots we have ever stayed in, even in the middle of Cape Breton winter. The owners are incredibly kind, giving, and easy to talk to. The location is beautiful, the rooms are stunning, and the property is very well taken care of. We loved interacting with the horses out back and the family's two very well behaved cats. There was nothing more we could have asked for from this beautiful BnB. Thank you!

If you don't rent or have a car, it's impossible to sleep there!

It was inconvenient to have to go into the common hall to get to the bathroom/shower.

Liked the country location with horses in the back paddock and being able to use the back deck. Centrally located for access to Glace Bay Miner Museum and Louisburg.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable, lots of complimentary accessories for bathroom and bedroom.very friendly owners who took time to chat to their guests. Breakfast was very good and lots to eat.

Extremely happy with our stay. Located just off a major route so easy to get to north Sydney. Very welcoming atmosphere. Room was lovely, clean and equipped with a coffee maker and fridge with water and a complimentary bottle of wine. Queen size bed was very comfy. Room has two large window's for natural light with blinds to make it dark for sleeping. A large fan was provided for comfort as there was no A/C in the bedrooms when we stayed. Breakfast was superb! Will definitely stay here again!

There was only one thing that stopped this place being perfect. We had booked two rooms with a private bathroom each. One bathroom was next door to the bedroom but the second one was down a corridor and across the kitchen to another corridor. This was inconvenient as you were walking through public spaces.

Very comfortable place with extensive facilities. There was fresh milk and soft drinks and a bottle of wine in a fridge, a coffee machine and even plates and cutlery in each bedroom. There was also a welcome pack with toothbrushes, tooth paste, shaving cream and even a woolly hat. There was also trays of sweets everywhere.

Dolores calls her B&B Back Home and this is such an accurate description. The room is 5 star both in comfort and extras provided. The room is alongside 2 others and a sitting room and some limited access to the kitchen to boil a kettle etc but with a coffee maker and fridge in the room. The bathroom is not en-suite but provided just for your room and is perfect. In addition we had breakfast as part of the deal and Dolores cooks superbly good wholesome, filling and enjoyable breakfasts with little treats.

I loved everything!

Clean, comfortable, cozy, quiet, peaceful location;felt like “home”. Nice size room with (bosche) coffee maker, 12 tea varieties, a fridge, large screen TV, basket of toiletries, bathrobes (wow!) great bathroom and shower! Breakfast was fresh fruit followed with a most delicious mushroom/onion omelette (so fluffy!!), bacon and homemade bread toast. So delicious 😋. Great coffee! And cold milk to drink (a huge bonus for me). And then there’s the gift of a bottle of wine!! And-Autumn the cat😊😊❤️. I just can’t say enough about how great this B&B is!! 20 minute drive from the ferry and easy to find. I give them 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

They requested to take off the shoes and walk barefoot as soon as we entered the house.

The room was perfect. Must be the master bedroom of the house with a huge king bed ,plenty of space and a luxurious bathroom.. Breakfast was plentiful although the day's selection for French toast and sausages was not perfect for me, I should have asked for eggs which were prepared for another customer.

Everything about this BnB is amazing! Not one thing to reproach! Every detail you can think of is included in this lovely, clean and well appointed home. Welcoming and feel right at home. Would need to go back to enjoy it even more. Breakfast was hands down better than most restaurants.

We stayed in the blue room, which is spacious, beautifully decorated with nautical/maritime themes, meticulously clean room, with a big ensuite bathroom (both shower and a spa bath), plus a king bed. The room also has a shared porch, with a part of it being a private balcony with a beautiful view, including 2 amazing horses. Also, we could do our laundry ourselves and free of charge. Every morning, we had a delicious breakfast and enjoyed the conversations with very, very friendly hosts. Host are very pleasant and helpful, but also discreet: they are there when you need them, but otherwise do not see them much during the day. The house is new and the whole properly is very nice. Plenty of restaurants 10min away in Sydney. Very good location for visiting Louisburg Fortress (a MUST see!), Highland Village (and the Bras D'Or Lake / Biosphere), and the Two Rivers Wild Park. We travel a looooooot, and this is one of the top 5 B&B accommodations we've ever been to.

Everything. The B & B is appropriately named. You arrive, and you feel right at home. Greg and Dolores are friendly and easy to talk to, and their home is beautiful! There was nothing we needed. They had it all. We highly recommend staying at Back Home B & B.
