How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Check-in was slow. There was only one staff to check-in for a busy friday night. Double beds are definitely not comfortable for 2 adults.

Our limited requirements were fully met
I was visiting family in Ottawa over Christmas and all we wanted was a place to sleep that was convenient,comfortable beds and parking.

The breakfast had room for improvement. During our one-night stay, we encountered difficulties with surface parking as all spaces were occupied. Additionally, there was a lack of clear instructions for accessing the underground parking.
The hotel's proximity to the history museum was fantastic for us. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable.

It was noisy at night, people were talking loudly in the corridor, and the sound isolation of the entrance door is not very good. Breakfast was below any reasonable expectation. Very limited choice.
Two separate bedrooms were a plus, one with its own door, which was great for people sleeping in that bedroom. The location is close to city center and nice for walking around.

The pillows were uncomfortable to sleep on for me as I have neck issues, they were quite thin! The bathroom - the only downside is that the toilet and the sink were very low (well below waist) but still usable. The toilet seemed a bit rusty on the bottom but it didn't really affect my stay in any way, it was more of cleanliness thing.
The hotel location was wonderful! The only issue was some construction around the area but overall very easy to find. The breakfast was very good for the price of the hotel, the room was amazing with even more of an amazing view. The bathroom/bedroom were clean. WIFI was included in the price of the hotel. Overall I would come back here again!

I was charged the cost of the whole stay to my credit card before I arrived. Even though everywhere in my booking said payment would be made on the property. I was never given a warning or a notice that this was going to happen, so I'm pretty annoyed and disappointed by that, especially since no staff gave me a actual answer as to why. Also the lack of a kettle was really weird, especially if you don't like the taste of tap water.
The room was so spacious and comfortable - the view was fantastic as well. I was surprised by the coffee machine, that was super helpful and the bed was so luxe. Also everything was super clean!

It took over an hour for check in. Arrived and 10 people were in line and it wasn't moving. Lady at the front was alone and couldn't call for help and the service was very slow. Diningroom staff were nice.

Noisy air conditioner, can hear kids in other rooms but quiet after 10:00pm, same breakfast menu every morning, a lot of sausages (I don’t like)and very little bacon ( I like) View: no parliament building or river as was advertised

Parking lot was too small for the amount of guests. A second lot nearby was also very packed but not very secure. Called Uber just so we didn’t lose our parking spot.
Located across from a scenic cruise pick up, view of the river and Ottawa from our room. staff was helpful and breakfast was well organized.
