I did like my time at the hotel, but considering the price it's impossible not to draw parallels with other luxury stays. The beds were overly soft, and there weren't any nice comunal areas for use, like a business room, or a pool. Also, the curtains of the bedroom were very fiddly

The decoration of the room, the reception area, the free Nespresso pods, the bathroom area. All looked and smelled so nice!

There was a coffee maker in the room, but there was no capsule available to make coffee, the room service was not responsive, there was not even a tea bag to drink tea

Arriving back after 2200, with both the hotel and nearby restaurants closed we needed to order from the room service menu, which itself is extremely limited.....as an example; sandwiches, cold soup, cheese and charcuterie. Also as we were getting there early I had originally said when booking that I would be very grateful if a room could be available before the normal 4p.m. check-in, but understood if this was not possible. Indeed they did manage to have a room ready for 1200, but when giving the key said there would be a $75 charge. However, as this was the very first mention of a fee another receptionist later kindly voided this surcharge.

Although an old established hotel it all seemed recently renovated with a nice reception and communal area. The room itself was large, bright, well designed and had a very comfortable bed. The location is excellent being only a few metres away from the main shopping area. All the staff were happy and obliging, especially the porters.

The curtains in the bedroom did not close properly. There was a dog in the room next to ours that was barking in the night and early morning on our final night stay.

As mentioned, the view to the side street was a bit drab, but that didn't take away from the stay.

Had an unexpected stay because of a transatlantic flight cancellation. I was impressed from start to finish with this hotel, except for the view from my room which was on a low floor and near the elevators (but small complaint given late reservation and that I was a single traveller and expected this, and I couldnt hear the elevators fortunately). The staff were terrific, the room service from the restaurant excellent. I am going to plan an on purpose trip back to stay here and enjoy Montreal when I'm back in Canada. Great location and nice historic building. Has a more personal feel than many of the larger hotels in the downtown where I have previously stayed.

Nothing to dislike, a wonderful hotel to stay at.

From entering the property to checking out the hotel was excellent. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Bedroom was a really good size as was bathroom, dry clean and if you get a balcony room on the. 5th floor you great views over the square and somewhere to relax with a drink before dinner. We din’t eat in the restaurant as there was so much choice within a few minutes walking but had pre dinner drinks in the cocktail bar. Great atmosphere especially sat at the bar you can see the mixologists doing their stuff. We had a small socket problem in the room, informed reception and within minutes engineer was there and fixed the problem. We asked for more espresso coffee in the room and straight away brought more. My wife and I were made to feel really welcome at all times. Special mention to “” and Johnny in the bar who took time to talk to us whatever time of day and gave us great ideas for our next days touristy visit around Montréal.

The alarm clock went off a midnight. We were unable to do an early morning checkout before leaving for the airport because the system was still “booting” and would take another 30 minutes. We were assured they would check us out and send our receipt after we left. It took a few days for the checkout to process and we never got the receipt.

The downtown location was convenient to Mount Royal and Old Town. The hotel amenities were very nice, the room was lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. The room included an Nespresso machine with pods & creams, which was very nice for our early departure.

We spent 2 nights in Montreal to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the Hotel Birks upgraded our room which was DIVINE. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on - and the pillows were * chef's kiss *. The room was large, exceptionally well appointed and we had a welcome gift of chocolates (thank you!). The bathroom was enormous, with a separate bathtub and the towels were so luxurious. The front desk and doorman staff were all amazing, kind and helpful. We will be back!!

This hotel is beautiful! The room my daughter and I shared was comfortable and spacious. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Location to everything is super convenient.

The mini fridge was too over stocked for us to keep our own little treats in. We did remove some things, but felt uneasy doing so.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the turn down service was such an unexpected treat.
