Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt would get top rating except for one thing- way too much light in the room at night! There are only slat blinds on the window and there’s a light right outside shining through. It needs blackout curtains on the window as well as the blind. There should also be a curtain over the glass wall of the shower at night. If the bathroom light is turned on at night, the whole bedroom lights up very brightly. Luckily I had an eye mask with me or I would not have had much sleep.
It’s a great location, right on the St. Lawrence River, very clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent and the food in the pub was delicious.

AustraliaEverything else around is closed off-season, although that made the place very peaceful.
Location, and neighbouring scenery. The pub dinner was a great night. Lost power in the morning, and they came around with a coffee pot and gave anyone who wanted it a hot drink.

United KingdomThe fact that the actual hotel, bar and restaurant were closed during our stay, and we hadn’t been informed in advance of this. We didn’t even have time to reconsider our stay, or ask for a refund and go elsewhere as no staff members left on site!
The setting was wonderful! The staff we met had to apologise for the fact that they were locking the main building as it was a Sunday, and were also closed on the Monday. Very disappointing as we hadn’t known this in advance (or probably wouldn’t have stayed there!) The room was superb, but we had quite a drive to find dinner that night, and also had to have breakfast next morning in Gananoque…. So, sadly no relaxing at our hotel, or meeting fellow guests.. usually a key, enjoyable part of a holiday. It all felt a bit lonely! Rockport is very beautiful however, just wish we could have made more of our stay there!

United StatesThey need some sort of drapes or room darkening blinds. The light outside your door shines right into the room all night long. We hardly slept at all. I also did not like my keys and an envelope with my name on it sitting on the bar counter waiting for anyone to take. I had no issue checking in at the bar but keep the information under the counter. The staff did not even ask to see id.
It was a nice little hotel right on the water. The room was very clean.

The location was right on the waterfront where we did our 1000 island boat cruise. Building is old but comfortable. Nice waterfront pub to eat at.

CanadaWe would have enjoyed more space in the bathroom. There was no counter space in the bathroom. It was a tight squeeze for my husband, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall. In the room, there was a very small rack to hang coats and only one metal hanger. We made due with the 2 drawers in our room for clothing and personal hygiene supplies.
We loved the service and location! It was a pleasant stay, and our room was waterfront. The shops and the restaurant also had great service. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. We loved that the floors in our room were not carpeted. It was very quiet even when lots of people came through the port to take a boat tour. We will return!

CanadaThere are 2 buildings. One with motel rooms and one with two floors, with larger units upstairs. We stayed in one of those larger units. There was a strong and constant smell of propane gas from the tanks stored on the first floor of the building. I've asked the hotel people about it, but they said it was normal. To me, it didn't feel normal. I don't think this smell is there in the first building (motel rooms).
Everything was good, especially the location, except one thing.

IsraelI used to hotels where your room is on some floor, that floor is above a lobby and so on. This hotel's room door is going straight to the outside, which in a way may reduce the security feeling for some people from the city. But of course the whole place is safe and nice, all was good and I still can recommend it especially if you have a morning cruise to the 1000 islands.
We booked this because of our sail on Rockport boat which is, like a few meters from the motel. This motel is very simple, I'd say in a way vintage for the good and for bad. But it is kind of cute. It has a door to a veranda overlooking the docks and the whole village is nice.
