Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWe were disappointed we didn't get the room we were supposed to get. This put a bit of a damper on the trip. There was quite the confusion with our codes but it did get sorted out. The conclusion the host came up with would be fine except we won't be that way again. Other than the incident, this is a lovely place.
We loved the house and the location. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting the surrounding towns. In the lobby there was info for places to eat etc which was quite helpful. Would recommend this place.

CanadaSadly the tv was difficult to watch with the four poster bed post. I think it would be easy to make the bed post in question detachable with long dowel or a swivel arm for the TV . FYI - There are a number of rooms for rent in this house but for us it wasn't busy. FYI - Limited restaurants that were not chain fast food. We had diner at the restaurant at the golf course which is just minutes away. Elora is also not far away.
Good communication from owner and access as we were coming in late. Coded access to the house and the room. Quaint century (plus) home with period pieces and country charm and because of the timing the beginning of what I am sure is very popular Halloween display! Our breakfast was also self serve with lots of variety from fresh pastry, breads, fruit, cereals, coffee, tee, juice etc. Our room was also appropriately decorated with a four poster bed queen size bed, small fridge and 4 piece bathroom. There was a tv in the armoire with extra blankets and pillows. We enjoyed reading and learning the history of the house and founding family in the common area. Lots of parking behind the house and off a main road

CanadaFreezing in my room. Even when the temperature change. Was hoping for a more homemade breakfast instead of a store bought one. Or even something from a local bakery.

I liked the vintage feel. I didn’t mind that breakfast was self serve as there were many choices like yogurt, fruits, cereals, toast and oatmeal.

CanadaI like dogs but there were 5 dogs around the breakfast table and loud barking at times which was inappropriate. The hostess, Jodi, had a loud talking voice during breakfast which was annoying and was on her cell phone which was distracting. The dinning table was right close to the buffet breakfast table and we had to squeeze through to get breakfast as other guests were sitting there. That was uncomfortable. I had left Jodi a thank you card and trinket, in the room. She didn't reach out with a thank you. We will not stay there again.
The room was nice. The house is historical. Nicely furnished. Jodi was very nice and accommodating. The coffee was good.

CanadaRoom and common areas (outdoors) were not well cleaned. Our room needed TLC as far as cleaning goes. We have no doubts that our sheets and towels were clean, but the rest of the room needed a thorough and detailed cleaning. There was very heavy dust on many of the surfaces of our room (knick knacks, window sills, coffee maker, some bathroom surfaces, etc.) Finally, the outside areas were cluttered and messy. There is a lovely, friendly large dog on the premises, but it's droppings can be found about the courtyard. Perhaps Covid has caused short staffing issues that could explain some of these issues. This property could be an absolute gem/perfect with just a tiny bit of TLC.
Staff was lovely to speak/deal with. Owners son actually called ahead on his phone to check on a local restaurant for us. Staff were completely accommodating to any of our requests. Breakfast was abundant and nicely laid out. The balcony in our room was so lovely and looked straight out onto the main street (Arthur Street). We were able to watch many Mennonite horse and buggies go by on their way to town while drinking our morning coffee and eating our breakfast at the comfortable table and chairs on our balcony.

CanadaThe parking situation wasn't great, through no fault of the Inn owner. There aren't designated spots, so everyone parked wherever and they did less than a great job. Could easily have fit two more cars in, if everyone had spaced properly. It made me laugh.
The space was beautiful and full of character. It felt very comfortable and inviting. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the owner was delightful!

CanadaWe stayed in the balcony room, and there was a door facing out to the street that had no window dressing. At night, the light from the street lamp across the road shone into our room. A window dressing on the door window would have made it a bit easier to sleep and would have provided some more privacy. The mattress was maybe a bit low in quality, and didn’t support the body well during sleep. The single pane windows (although very beautiful) did little to block the noise of cars going by or of birds singing early in the morning.
We loved the shelves full of old books, the wonderfully inviting common rooms, the delightfully surprising Knick knacks in the decor, and our cozy room. There was so much “scope for imagination”! The host was very hospitable, and the breakfast met expectations.

CanadaThe family is warm and welcoming. We loved the dog motif and meeting a couple of the darling dogs. It is a charming home with lots of nice touches. I loved the deep bathtub and used it twice to soak my tired feet after a day of outdoor painting. My husband liked the television and was able to see a couple of shows he wanted to see.
