Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only parking was on the street but we were able to find a spot in front of the house.
The apartment was a well done remodeled lodging that was completely equipped. The only negative with the apartment was there was no view. When we had questions about something Charlie was very prompt in responding. The location was close to Banff National Park and the cost was way less than Lake Louise lodgings I found. There is a very good restaurant (Truffle Pigs Bistro) to walk to just a block down the street. It was the perfect fit for our travels.

United StatesThe mattress was a bit too firm for my taste but I like super soft mattresses so probably wouldn’t be an issue for most people.
Great location. Much larger than it looks in the photos. Washer and dryer, and kitchen in unit. Good soaking bathtub. Friendly hosts. Nice outside area to eat or just hang out in.

CanadaThe bed was a small for us (we are not large people at 6' and 5'6" and are in shape) but it was otherwise comfortable. The tub/shower is a bit quirky, and for getting in and out of the tub there is nothing to hold onto for balance if needed - not a problem for us but could be for others. The outside stairway access to the suite could be a challenge for some, depending upon how much luggage or food supplies etc they wish to bring into the unit - again, not a problem for us, but it could be for others depending upon age and physical ability. All that said, we would stay here again if we were going back to the area.
Great location for travelling to see the sights in the area. Lots of room in the unit to spread out and relax after a day of travelling or hiking. Well-equipped kitchen. Wi-Fi and TV channel selection both very good. Suite was very clean and though we were travelling at the tail-end of the COVID restrictions, we felt comfortable with staying here since we did not need to interact with anyone else unless we chose to do so. The hosts were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful

CanadaIf I had to find a critique it would be the height of the shower and that the hot water didn't fill up the tub for my partner to fully enjoy the lovely tub. I'm over 6 feet, and rather flexible, so I managed well enough. My partner is not as tall and didn't find an issue showering and although it is not my place I was worried about getting water outside of the tub with the system used. Some people may not like the wifi experience, but all the more reason to enjoy Field or the sights and experience of Yoho and the surrounding area!
The host, location and endless possibilities! If you want to have a chill stay or explore nature and mountain environments this can be easily accommodated here...your base is in Yoho National Park, beautiful hikes and sights are within a short drive away! Field is a beauty mountain town and short walks exploring the town's history is nice too. Charlie is a super cool guy, welcoming and accompanied washer and dryer in the suite was a huge bonus! Firepit couldn't be enjoyed, due to a fire ban and clearly out of Charlie's control, but I see the potential. Kitchen is stocked enough, while as others commented the stove doesn't have enough power for higher heat, but it is easy to prepare for that and if not you can't go wrong with Truffle Pigs restaurant, a minute or so walk from Charlie's. If you stay and the weather cooperates, sit outside at night and enjoy the stars:)

United StatesNothing!
Charlie’s Guesthouse offered everything we could want. It felt like a home away from home; it was comfortable, spacious, and proximal to the places we sought to visit. It also offered welcome amenities like the en-suite laundry (washer and dryer) facilities. I deliberated between staying in Lake Louise (which was barely controlled chaos) and Field, and I’m so glad that I chose Charlie’s Guesthouse as our base of operations. An extra bonus is that Charlie is a very genial, accommodating host. I highly recommend Charlie’s Guesthouse to all who are seeking convenience and a welcoming environment while visiting the Lake Louise and Yoho National Park areas.

CanadaVery comfortable and clean place set in the mountains that had everything we needed. It had a small kitchen that was very functional, a large bathroom with laundry and a bed with a sitting area and TV. It was a basement apartment with its own entrance and was very private. Field is a great spot to explore Yoho Park and all the trails. Charlie was very accommodating and helpful.
