Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe location within the Village Historique Acadien is incredible, the period-accurate room is fun though it has its quirks, the breakfast was an excellent continental with great variety of fresh fruit and delicious baked goods, and the stay includes your admission and parking. Fabulous.

IranI liked everything!
I love the way they took care of an old building and saved its unique soul. You feel like traveling in time and separate from the rest of the world here. It also gives you the opportunity to see the Acadian village.

GreeceI did not have a side table by the bed and it was extremely unpractical. The furniture was very nice and I would have liked the table that was in our bathroom to have been by my bedside. The airconditioning was very loud.
When I booked I had no idea of the location. I read the reviews that said it was 9.6 so I thought I could book it as a stop over. But it is not what I wanted. I made a mistake that turned out to be worthwhile. I had not read about the Acadian Village. When we drove to the hotel it was like being in a movie. When we arrived at the chateau it was nothing like I was expecting. I just booked by looking at the room. The bar man who was by the reception was role playing and I got very confused. It sounded like he was a descendant of the Acadians but after a while we realised that it was role playing. I found the place a bit eerie and felt uncomfortable at first. The receptionist told us that they were short staffed because some staff members were sick. I found it odd that she told us. Perhaps it was role playing. We then went for a walk around the village and then I realised what the place was. We were ´eaten´ by mosquitos during our walk. Anyway, when we returned to the room I started relaxing and appreciating the surroundings a bit more. I was very impressed by the pressure of the taps in the bathroom and the flushing of the toilet. Considering how old the place is.

CanadaBe warned that it is a bit of a walk to the hotel from the parking lot. There is a boardwalk and wagons available for luggage.
Loved staying in the Acadian Village. Comfortable bed and fun to soak in the claw foot tub. Lovely terrace to sit on. Even though the breakfast is continental there are lots of choices, fresh biscuits, croissants and fresh fruit. The admission price to tour the Acadian Village is included in the rate.

CanadaWe would have enjoyed hot servings for breakfast; old fashioned porridge with homemade bread from the village kitchens even some good Canadian bacon and eggs.
Really enjoyed being in an historic hotel in the midst of Village Historique Acadien’s living museum. Charming accommodations and the claw foot bath was soothing after a warm day’s sunny visit! The continental breakfast was delicious. We will return!

CanadaThis is a magical property. We had a room on the upper floor, one of the larger ones. It was so beautifully appointed with antique furniture and a beautiful touch of delicious freshly baked cookies. The property is situated directly inside the Historic Acadian Village and you have the feeling of being transported back through time. Because the Village closes and the only building open is the hotel on the property, it is so peaceful and quiet. The staff are all incredibly friendly and provide a warm Acadian welcome. When you visit the Acadian Village (which is included with your stay at the hotel) you must try the Table des Ancêtres restaurant and for sure try the sugar pie. So delicious. The breakfast at the hotel was incredible too and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Freshly baked croissants and cheese biscuits straight from the oven. The terrasse on the second floor is a wonderful place to relax. The hotel mentioned they are thinking of introducing an afternoon tea next year and I would be so excited to return for that.

CanadaA little off the beaten path. we had to drive into local town for meal, but it wasn’t far. There was noTV,which suits the historical setting, but just didn’t expect that.
It was a historically set location so the decor fit into that. Within a pioneer village so if you’re into that, it is included in the price of staying there.

CanadaI really wanted a straw mattress.
Be aware you will be living in an ancient Acadian village. The experience is much like it was in the early 1900’s. No TV, Fridge, no microwave, painted wood floors, chain activated toilet. We did not have a straw mattress and we had internet. Very good breakfast. Village will take 4 or 5 hours to see so allow time it is well worth it. Go for the experience not the amenities.

CanadaNone of the restaurants in the village were open so we had to drive off-site to get dinner after we had checked in.
The location was great as it was in the middle of a fascinating historic village. We made a serious mistake in underestimating the amount of time that it would take to see all of the buildings.

CanadaThere are no restaurant avaliable in the hotel. There is snacks for sale at hotel bar such as beef jerky, chips, juice. The only food avaliable is the restaurant and resting posts in the Acadian village itself they all close at 4pm. The breakfast was very minimal they should consider fresh eggs from their site, homemade bread loafs and real butter since they make it there,it would add so much character to the whole experience. It was sad also that they dont sell home made loaf of breads at the souvenir boutique like they used to. There was also alot less animal that there used to be on the site.
Very pleasant athmosphere. The employees are very friendly. The place is very clean. Everything in very antique and pretty. Only the hotel guests can visit the castle other than the bar which is accessible to the public. I will be going back.
