Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesFor the first few days, I had a lot of difficulty with the front door. It had a code, and it just wouldn't work. I kept having to contact the owner, who wasn't on site, but two hours away. It was frustrating, and she just kept telling me to do it again . I had a back issue, and standing there was highly uncomfortable. It's highly inconvenient when there is nobody on site to help , especially in case of an emergency, which I told the owner. Thankfully, it began to work better towards the latter part of my stay.
I had the entire house all to myself. It had all you needed.

CanadaThe double bed, while comfortable, was a bit small for 2 people (but it was alright). The people in the other room on our floor kept the bathroom door closed even when they weren't in it, so we were never sure if the bathroom was in use or not. That was no fault of the owner or the property of course.
We were close enough to walk to the Falls area, the niece of the owner who was staying there was very nice, our room was big, and the place was clean 😀

United StatesThe only thing I didn’t like was the responsiveness of the host/property. The day or so before check in, they were fairly responsive, responding to a text message of mine and then sending check in details through Booking.com. However once we checked in, I saw there was a sign in the room that said the house gets locked at midnight every night for guest safety, and if you will return after midnight, to let them know. Check in time was the window of 3 pm-6 pm, and I sent them a message at 6:20 through Booking letting them know it was possible we’d return later than midnight depending on traffic, and to please not lock the house. They didn’t respond, so I wasn’t sure if they got it. I updated them hours later saying we would indeed be back after midnight and please don’t lock the house… I sent another message after that, and also a text asking if they got my Booking.com messages because I hadn’t heard back and didn’t want to be locked out. I tried to stay in really good communication and they did not respond until about 9 am the next morning. I was really afraid we might be locked out, but luckily we were not. So that’s the only thing… they really should have been responding after check-in happened, not just before. If we had had a major issue with the room or something, it seems they would not have seen the message. Other than that, everything was good.
Property itself was very nice and clean… we stayed in the Jupiter room which has two beds. The bigger bed was quite comfy and supportive but the little bed was a little less so… the air conditioner in the room worked well so we stayed cool even though it was hot outside. We had a key to lock the room as there’s another guest room right next to it and one up on the 3rd floor. Bathroom was well maintained and shower worked very well. We had a bottle of water left for us in the fridge which was nice.

United StatesThis is an AirBNB type property, there isn't normally staff there, you use a keybox. My room was on the top floor, the second flight of stairs was pretty steep and parts of the ceiling were pretty low. The pictures in the listing are accurate.
Very good location, a quiet residential neighbourhood a short, nice walk to the falls and centre of city. Bed was comfortable, everything worked and was clean.

United StatesThe shower ceiling was slanted, so if you're taller than 5'8 or something, it might not be the most comfortable. (I'm 5'6) I had to make sure not to bump my head, but it wasn't a huge deal breaker! Just need to be a bit cautious. The shower would also occasionally leak after using the sink or 30 minutes after use.
Lovely b&b! I had the deluxe loft room which was a nice little hideaway spot. The extensive amenities and kind hosts made my stay really comfortable. I didn't see the host directly since they were away on March break, but she responded to my questions quickly. Would recommend!
