Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaSecurity - codes can be shared or stolen and no dead bolt on door. Room could be accessed while the guest is out. Cannot leave any belongings. Blind does not cover entire window (privacy and light are an issue) Room is dlrectly in the main entrance - noisy (keeping the fire door closed would help). Heating : could not heat the room above 19 degrees as the baseboard is too small for the size of the room and that 2 ceiling air vents were fully opened creating a cold draft.

CanadaStairway is narrow. No elevator. Towels are not clean. I saw a bug on a towel at the supply room, don’t know if it is bed bug or not. Don’t see any in my room. The air exhausts need to clean. Washroom and kitchen are a bit small. Plug is not available between the beds but on the side. No direction on parking. No room cleaning during the stay as specified. No reception/no actual person greeting. Maintenance check/enter the room during my stay instead of before or after while we are still in the room.
Room is clean. Has tv, kitchen and bathroom. Netflix free and internet as well. Staff responds to message and fix some problems. Quiet if not open the window. Close to subway/metro.

FinlandThe room was as advertised, but quite small, not a lot of room for luggage. Bedside table and power outlet only on one side of the bed, which was quite inconvenient. No furniture on the balcony, so it was a bit useless. No reception or staff to be seen on site. No elevator, had to carry luggage up two narrow flights of stairs. Electronic lock to room was a bit fickle.
Clean and reasonably comfortable, looked the same as in pictures. Functional little kitchenette, good shower. Short walk to subway. The Village is getting better every time I go, in a few years it may actually be a nice area. Now still a bit rough around the edges.

South AfricaThe absolute absence of people: the only interaction with staff I had was by email (which is not my preferred mode of communication on holiday). I would prefer a phone number (e.g., for WhatsApp) or better still someone to be available at the property maybe an hour each day. There doesn't seem to be luggage storage onsite if you arrive early or depart late (but I discovered that the nearby bus terminal has paid luggage lockers). I couldn't figure out how to switch off the bright blue light of the microwave clock which was a bit bothersome overnight.
It's very clean. The location near one of the intercity bus termini, a metro station and the main street of The Village is particularly convenient. Fantastic shower and it is is nice to be able to control the room temperature.

AustraliaThe cutlery is not that clean, the accessibility is terrible. That's a ground floor level, but everyone needs to go upstairs to enter the building and then go downstairs. I just saw an elderly fall when he was trying to open the front door, that's really heavy. Plus, there's no elevator, if you have bags, don't get it. Its not worth the money.

CanadaWe are very dissatisfied with the level of security in the room during our stay. At night, other guests were able to open the door, inexplicably having the same door code. On the first floor, someone even tried to open the window at night and steal belongings. The owners' reaction was nonexistent, and their attitude seemed to imply that if nothing terrible happened, then everything was fine. This lack of concern is unacceptable.
The hotel is ideally located for convenience, with easy access to public transportation and within walking distance to major tourist attractions. The room is well-equipped with all the essentials needed for a pleasant stay.
