Nice cheap hotel to rest - but park ELSEWHERE as they charge MORE for parking than 5 star hotels!

The pool WASN'T open - there was NO water in it and it was STILL closed - even though it was OVER 20 degrees outside for the full 4 days we were there. Also .. VERY important - the Days Inn is OWNED by #ChoiceHotels - which ALSO owns the Quality Inn, which is RIGHT BESIDE the Fallsview Casino. The Quality Inn offers FREE parking, HOWEVER, the Days Inn does NOT. WHY IS IT that Days Inn charge a WHOPPING $31 PER NIGHT for parking, when the Quality Inn which is OWNED by the SAME company does NOT???? Also, 5 star hotels offer CHEAPER parking at $25 per night, while Days Inn, which is a 2 star hotel is MORE expensive than the 5 star star hotel. The Days Inn NEEDS to affiliate with a BETTER breakfast deal than Appleby's restaurant. Because I had a BAD experience there with the food.

Last time I stayed here at the Days Inn, they offered free breakfast at the local Hilton down the street. Now they offer 50% off breakfast at the nearby Appleby's which I had a bad experience years before, and would NEVER go there again. May I make a suggestion??? Why don't you team up with the "My Cousin Vinny's" restaurant down the street that ALSO owns the $10.99 ALL YOU CAN EAT breakfast buffet??? My friends and I enjoyed a GREAT breakfast there. Maybe the Days Inn could cover their "all you can drink" (non-alcoholic) beverages - so it can be TRULY an "All you can eat" breakfast - no limitations.

Key problem. When I went there to begin with, after 2 days, my card stopped working. When I went to the reception, she gave a different card and when I was about to go downstairs to my room, she called one of her colleagues and showed something in the computer and heard she mentioned a different room number. I went on because she already said I was good to go. Went down and still won't work. I had to get my husband return and when he went up, he talked to a different person in the reception, mentioned my card was appointed in a different room number. Going back and forth wasn't necessary.

Expectations met. Everything advertised were granted and available.

The hidden fees for parking. I understand it’s a tourist area. However $25 dollars a night plus tax for parking can be a bit surprising when checking in. Then a $250 dollar deposit on top of that.

The staff were very friendly and nice!

As above reception area far too small-needs to be opened up. People lined up outside ( Colourless very drab . The cleaning lady spoke a kind of English I think but I couldn't understand her. I was asking which way to the front desk. Should have been less as the pool wasn't open.

Not much-dark, looked sort of grubby needs repainting and we were out far from the desk. Liked the tiny bars of soap.

Carpark was charged extra. Ideally charge should be shown during booking and not at check-in. In canada , having car is common and they can show charges during booking for customer to make informed decisions.

Incredibly long and dubious corridors and uncertain visitors... And, yes: there was no bidet in the bathroom... How can Canadians build hotel bathrooms without bidets??)) Television was also very disappointing. It's a good thing that Niagara doesn't allow much time to watch television)))

Location, location, location! And the convenient price was a big plus. All the hotel's quirks and oddities were offset by these huge benefits for budget travelers. Yes, the reception and corridors were scary a bit, but the room itself was very clean, comfortable, and cozy.
