The kindness of the staff, the interior design of the hostel and the cleanness. Moreover I love the fact that the staff requires the personal food to be put on a basket with an easy-to-apply label where name, room and check-out date shall be written on. The care of the little details is definitely there.

Couldn't remember if key goes in both locks. Only did top and still locked out. Was glad someone still up and let me in. Will ask on that next time.

Enjoyed my last stay and prefer hostels because only care about having bed. This time, I was in basement and it has a welcoming atmosphere down there that didn't expect. Was glad event went over for was right across street. So stumbling back wasn't a worry (even though watched my drink limit). Note: picture is Obie Trice at Bloom

All of the rooms have shared bathrooms.

The location can’t be beat! Right on Baker street close to all the restaurants and shops. I love how you can book a whole dorm room to yourself.

The blinds in the room let the morning light in. It didn't bother me because I'm up that early.

Kitchen had all the stuff you needed. I parked my car the whole time and walked everywhere. Even took the shuttle up to Whitewater.

Location on Baker Street cannot be beat; a perfect place for a quick stay. The best part was the genuine hospitality from the lovely lady on front desk - we felt so welcome from the moment we walked in the door. Would stay again!

It concerned me a bit that we were asked to strip the bottom and top sheet, but not the duvet cover. I'm a bit concerned they don't wash those regularly? Stripping the sheet also exposed a pretty grubby mattress.

Super cosy and homely, kitchen space with everything you need, walking distance to everything you need in town. Friendly staff.

It's an old building so, to be expected, it's a little creaky. The front door closing reverberated loudly in our room. I was a little concerned at first, but otherwise it was a very quiet night and we slept soundly.

Convenient location downtown. Friendly staff. Clean common area and kitchen. Well suited for our purposes, would not hesitate to stay again.

Cleaning under the beds could be better. Bathroom to room ratio is a bit low, some waiting around to use the bathroom.

Excellent staff interaction at checkin. Bed linen was very clean and fresh. Art work on walls was great.

The bunk beds are generally really low, I could look down on someone sleeping in the top bunk if I was stood up (and I'm only 5ft 7!), pretty uncomfortable sitting on the bottom bunk, was always scrunched. The dorm I was in was 8 bed, the booking was just for "1 bed in a dorm" and doesn't tell you it's 8 bed, 6 bed, 4 bed etc so not sure there's a choice. Parking is round the back and only fits 5 cars so not a lot (there's free street parking outside of 9-5 so that might help). Not a dislike but I didn't realise it was a HI hoste until I got there, they should advertise it as such, it might get more people that way!

Location is great, it's at one end of downtown. Staff are super friendly, shoes off hostel, clean. Bathroom was a proper bathroom - nice and big (but also means the 16 people on that floor are after it if unlucky timing). They had a fire in the front and it was so cozy, there's also 3 other sitting areas.

Rooms were incredibly tight to move round in especially the private 4 bed bunk. We were a 3 and with all our bags we couldn’t really move around each other in the room.

Booking.Com did not accurately describe the bed types in the room which made for some confusion upon checking in.

Location was great, beds were comfy, LOVED the sink and mirror in the room. Showers were clean and always available. Will stay here when I visit Nelson again.

Great hostel. Twin room was very clean, so was the shared bathroom across the hall. Sink in room was a handy touch. Light and airy room comfy bed. Friendly check in on arrival 🙂 Would definitely stay here again.
