How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Stairs!!
Very comfortable and clean. Elevator was out of service but under repair the next morning. Breakfast was average.

Elevator was down and my wife has disability Reading lamps weren’t working. Fan in bathroom should be on timer. Neighbor left his fan on when they left and could hear it from our room.
Breakfast was good and staff very friendly

There were no sockets near the bed. I generally don't like having carpet in a hotel room, because I always question their cleanliness. The bathroom is a bit old-fashioned.
The beds were very very comfy. The breakfast was plenty and a good selection.

No elevator. Had to walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to room. No discount for inconvenience however did relocate to 1st floor and much bigger room so turned out good.

The elevator was not working, I had to lug my stuff up two flights of stairs
Heating controls could be better. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were very thick. Breakfast was the usual frozen stuff with little variety or choices. Overall it was okay.

Hallway did not smell great and was a little dark. Everything was just a little outdated. Rooms had wall to wall carpets. Light switches, paint, fixtures, sinks, etc were all at least 10 years old. Layout of the hotel was interesting. That may be a pro or con depending on your tastes!
Staff were friendly. Rooms were very large.

Hotel was dated and required renovations. The bathtub was chipped and showed signs of age of hotel. A guest or animal had an accident on the carpets in the main hallway, so the stench was awful. They employees were in the process of cleaning it up...
The hotel front desk employee was really nice when we checked in. The bed was comfy enough.

The vending machines were all out of water and some other beverages. Pricing on machine was confusing An amazing staff member walked by and helped us out. He even came with us to other floors to see if those machines were better stocked. 🙂.
Location was perfect. Breakfast was great.

Some of the fixtures are older and in need of repair. The deadbolt lock on the door didn't work (Room 1019).
Bed was comfy, room was clean. Breakfast was OK, nothing special. Breakfast staff were efficient, but seemed indifferent to hotel guests.

Carpets were warm & looked dirty. Only one elevator & it was slow. Parking was not controlled access. I was concerned that my car might be stolen.
It was downtown, close to train station, marina, boardwalk, locks, restaurants & mall. Breakfast was included in stay & was available early @ 6:30 am for guests. It worked out well for us b/c we had to be at Agawa Canyon Tour Train ticket office by 7:30 am.

The breakfast was disorganized, tables took a long time to be cleared, so we finally cleaned it ourselves. No one wiped the tables in between seatings -

That our room wasn’t ready and it was 3:30 in the afternoon when we tried to check in.
Had a very nice breakfast. Close to train station, downtown, waterfront and casino.

The breakfast was okay the first day. Wished there was more fruit than just oranges. On the second morning, the eggs were cold and they ran out of milk for coffee and cereal - not good. On both mornings the hot items were scrambled eggs and sausage. Variety would have been preferred.
The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The location was very good, close to the waterfront. The staff were friendly.

The rooms are tired - there is older carpet with the smell of cigarettes still in the air- the general vibe is a worn and can use a bit of updating

The elevator….scary bang when stopping at second floor . But they are planning on replacing when season slows.
