How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

the food in the restaurant is just okay, particularly dinner. Stayed at the hotel five nights and after the first nights dinner we sought other restaurants for the evening meal. All servers were outstanding though!

was a bit disappointed when I thought I’d booked a view of the harbour. I guess I thought a view of the city was the harbour . I ended up frustrated at check in. since we are all being driven to book on line pls try to be clear, direct and honest.

The one thing that I was not happy with was the bathrobe. It was too small for me and I'm not a large man. Both rode's were the same size. Also they were not very fluffy but felt hard and uncomfortable.
The view from the room was not a full view of the harbor. However, pleasant enough. The room was warm and comfortable.

The dust and dirty socks by the bed were a little disappointing for paying $600 a night but sometimes these things happen.
the location, parking for an oversized truck, lots of great amenities for kids, the property and beautiful boardwalk that goes for miles. the front desk staff is always helpful and lovely. we stay here often.

Shower wasn’t very clean and vent in bathroom was full of dust. Doors in rooms aren’t soundproof from hallway noise. I don’t think hotels should have carpet in rooms because of allergies.
Great location and walking distance to downtown. Excellent complimentary breakfast at the Lure Restaurant!

Carpet in our room needs to be replaced!!! One restaurant server (Chase) was extremely poor and we talked to the Manager and one dinner was comped and it should have been the entire meal for both of us. Would've like a better view than over the service garage entrance but the price difference was too much for us. No robes in our room. Parking was expensive. Due to Covid room not refreshed daily and we had to either call for something or find an employee cleaning another room.
Location as walkable everywhere yet far enough away from City core for us. Pool was nice. Restaurant food was good. Room size nice.

Carpet in the middle of the room has stretched and there is a raised area that someone may trip on one day. (Rm 739)
The staff were the best part. The food in the restaurant was good as well.

Our room was a bit small and the bed was just ok.
We weren’t familiar with Victoria, and guessed that the location would be good. We were so happy with location the view across the bay is as good as anywhere. We love walking and the location is perfect for accessing the downtown core in a few minutes. We also felt safer being just outside the downtown area at night. We made good use of the pool, hot tub and exercise room which was well maintained and very clean. Staff were great and helped us out with any issues that arose. We will stay at the Delta again if we return to Victoria.
