We had a room on the ground floor but could only leave by the front entrance if we wanted to lock our room. We could not exit by our patio doors to walk along the boardwalk as these did not lock from the outside. A minor inconvenience, a things considered.

The location of this property is within walking distance of amenities, shops and restaurants.

This hotel does not have an elevator. All of the steps to the top floor can be a challenge at the end of the day.

We love this location right on the water. The sunrises are spectacular looking out at the boats in the harbour!

When I pulled up to the building it didn’t look like much and upon check in was asked for gratuity on top of our room charge before check in. (I was skeptical but just do it) Don’t let that fool you because when we checked in and got our room the lovely lady at the desk took us to our room and oh my how amazing!! The views were spectacular from our balcony and the suite was gorgeous, clean and modern with motion lights. There was a beautiful fireplace and huge tv. There was even a fireplace in the bathroom! The bathroom was huge with double sinks and very modern fixtures. Shower was huge and incredible! I highly recommend Dockside suites! The staff was really friendly and kind. The restaurant was terrific! Best meal I had in Nova Scotia! Scallops and sushi and mussels were amazing! Not to mention the daiquiris! Absolute 10/10 for me! Btw after declining the tip option, I left cash for housekeeping and tipped our wait staff generously at the restaurant! Well worth it!

My only three issues....1) towels.....for a luxury suite I would have expected big fluffy towels and more of them. Us girls do need a towel to wrap our hair in, right? 2) A fair amount of noise transfer from the hallway, but thankfully was not often. 3) balcony was super and those wrought iron bistro sets are pretty, but not at all comfortable. Overall loved this place, would stay again.

Beautifully updated rooms, owner spared no expense it was like a luxury stay. I loved the Napolean electric fireplaces, and the bed was super comfy. And that rainfall shower head was the bomb! Great staff, super friendly and helpful. Loved the sound of the waves on the shore, upstairs room may have had a better view. Overall loved this place, would stay again.

I was asked to pay a gratuity up front on arrival. One of the women at reception came across as quite rude. Two times. The other woman and waitress in restaurant were polite and friendly.

The room was large clean and comfortable. A good value compared to many of the other places I have stayed in, in the valley.

No breakfast available in the winter (I don't normally travel to Digby in the winter-first time for a special family event).

The room was large, the bed was king size and very comfortable; the temperature was easy to adjust; the lighting was perfect; the walk-in shower was unexpected and much appreciated.

Needed a dish cloth in the kitchen and a tea towel. A few more options for making meals.

Loved the restaurant! Was even able to bring my puppy in to sleep on the floor when we dined. Very accommodating and delicious Digby Scallops!

First time I ever saw a tip request on the debit machine for a hotel room. Then when I did I was showed the machine and was told it was for the cleaning staff and front desk. She then showed me the machine again and asked if that was the amount I wanted to tip. 😳
