Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaHad trouble with hotplate controls because of missing and/or loose bolts. Toilet got blocked but was fixed quickly. Facility starting to show it's age and in need of maintenance and sprucing up in some areas. No laundry facilities.
Good views. Quiet location. Full kitchen facilities. Was next to stop for shuttle bus to town centre and the Resort provided free passes for the bus.

AustraliaBuilding was a little dated but it was fine for our purposes
The room was clean and comfortable and large. We found the kitchen handy. Staff were friendly and excellent. Location was handy for Tunnel Mountain trails and there was a bus stop right outside with the hotel providing free bus passes making getting in and out of central Banff very easy.

CanadaStaff greeting on arrival was mediocre. Rooms were clean but broken furniture, and worn down. No instructions for fire place or hotel amenities. Had to find out by trial and error and asking staff who were not necessarily kind when asking questions. Curt I would say.
Housekeeping staff were great. Loved being close to nature and view was amazing. Came for the sights.

It was close to Banff village to attractions . We like getting our beds made and supplied with fresh towels. We didn’t get to use any of the resort facilities as we were out most of the time.

United KingdomThis was a 3 person stay. We needed to ask for bedding and the 2nd bed which was a sofa, not a sofa bed, less comfortable.
Lodge is a distance from town, quieter end, backs onto walking trails, bus stops outside with a free pass for guests. Lovely views of the mountains from the living area. We were 3 adults though this would be a great place with kids. An outside BBQ for all guest use.

CanadaThe place could probably use a fresh coat of paint on the buildings outside as it was slightly run down. Having said that, it did not detract from our vacation.
We liked the accommodation for our family as it had a kitchenette, water slides and hot tubs. The kitchenette was great and allowed us to cook our own meals. The space was great and did not feel cramped. We were able to park right outside the room and the views from our living room were beautiful. The Murphy bed was good as it gave space during the day but could have two people sleep in it at night.

CanadaThe property could use some updates, but the units were well Stocked and comfortable and well worth the cost for the amenities and conveniences they provide.
You CANNOT beat the amenities offered here. As a family it was soooo amazing to have the waterpark and playzone for our kiddos. We also loved the wood burning fireplace!!

United KingdomThe warm air heat was incredibly noisy and went on and off at about 10minute intervals . The bedroom was cold , we had -19 c temperatures whilst we were there . I think an upgrade in bedding is needed , one thin sheet , blanket a as bd counterpane was all we had . As other pet have mentioned the apartment was a bit outdated . The cabinets need painting . Housekeeping was satisfactory though the sink and mirror in the bathroom was not wiped round . Pillows were a bit lumpy
We were given a ground floor apartment overlooking the woods. We were lucky to see a herd of elk and 2 wolves. It was a quiet area though slightly out of town and up a hill .Plenty of hot water and an open fire . Bus passes were give for the local buses which were very reliable , though not sure why we only got 3 days at a time .

United StatesThe mountain view was obscured by the fireplace chimney and a fence surrounded our balcony. But still beautiful. The lobby area is very outdated. The stores that once were available on the property were closed during COVID.
This is a lovely resort that blends retro and modern. Some would say it is dated, and it is true there are areas that need updating. But our room had everything we needed. There was a full modern kitchen and bathroom as well as a wood burning fireplace which was our biggest draw. The location is a beautiful area of Tunnel Mountain away from the congestion of the Banff town-site, but still close. The drive up the mountain is especially scenic. The bus stop, which Douglas Fir Resorts gives free passes for transportation into town is right across the street and runs frequently.

United StatesNeither hot tub was working while we were there, with the indoor one being closed and the outdoor one being a "tepid" tub at best. We also found that both of the large heating elements on our stove didn't work and it seemed that we were missing some pots and pans. It take a bit of juggling to cook pancakes, sausage, and eggs with only one frying pan!
The Murphy Bed in the living room was much nicer than a sofa bed for our daughter to sleep in. We also appreciated the kitchen and the ability to cook our own breakfast in our own space. Being able to park right by the unit was a nice bonus.
