How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the accommodations fell a bit short. the rental was supposed to be a double bed with 2 singles. ended up being 2 doubles. brought it up but was told this is the option available. the kids were disappointed to have to share a bed. The listing should be clear on number of beds. The jacuzzi tub was nice but the jets didn't function. The master bedroom queen bed is really showing it's age and with 2 people you roll to the center.
Felix was so friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent and closet to many interesting spots including Anne of Green Gables. Cabin was very clean! The jacuzzi tub was nice but the jets didn't function. The nearby North Rustico beach was a favorite. Kids loved the pool. Friendly horses in the neighboring pasture that were a joy to the kids.

The cottage was super spacious. The Jacuzzi was my favourite part of the cottage. I really enjoyed my stay. The bed and everything was comfortable. I went in May, so it was still pretty chilly to not need an AC, so I don't know how it would be in the summer as there is no AC.

This was very comfortable place to stay in PEI, and is especially convenient for families: The location was very close to grocery stores, the local seafood market, as well as local restaurants, so good food was never an issue. There was also plenty of things to do for kids, as they had a heated pool, playground for children, and surprisingly even horses you could interact with. Additionally, they also had a fully equipped kitchen, as well as two bathrooms in my suite, which made staying here as a family even more comfortable than it already was. In all we would definitely come back again the next time we visit PEI.

The property is a little outdated - which is to be expected most cottages are. But everything was extremely clean so it makes up for it! The cottages are very bright with all new/modern ish furniture. The kitchen appliances are older but again to be expected in a cottage. The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfy. The twin beds were ok (they would be perfectly fine for children) but if you have a bad back I would advise booking the cottage that has the two queen beds. All in all it was a wonderful stay. And we will be booking again next year for hopefully longer!
The property was gorgeous! You could see the beach (from afar) from your deck. Grounds were well maintained. The property backs right onto a farm that has horses. The horses were so friendly and they got many scratches and love from everyone staying on the property. The property is a decent size with lots of room for everyone to move around. I can’t say enough about the hosts/ owner Felix. Can’t do enough for you. So kind and so accommodating. There was a mix up with our cabins and we ended up in a different one. But after Felix explained that a large family had booked cottages side by side we understood. I personally think we ended up with the better cottage anyway considering it was right next to the horses. We’re such animal lovers it was a really nice treat to wake up every day to the sight of the horses playing and just grazing. Another thing I feel I need to put here is how helpful Felix was. My mom and I booked a getaway to kind of take our minds off things. And my mom was unable to help me lug in my luggage because she’s disabled and has a hard time walking. Felix came and helped me unload my car and bring everything on. He even asked where to place everything in each room. Between the owner and the property this is a little slice of heaven! My mom and I both commented on how we did not want to go home today, and had we not had to go back to work, I probably would have Inquired about staying another day!
