We stayed only one night in the shoulder season. The hotel is located not far from the lake, unassuming and older in style. The owner, Estelle, was welcoming, warm and very helpful. We were able to park our car just outside the room. We stayed three adults in a family room with two singles and a queen. The rooms were comfortable, exceptionally clean and reasonable size. The stencilled decor on the walls was delightful. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was clean, well-appointed with a good supply of towels, shampoos etc. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. This was one of the better two star hotels that I have visited.

We love the cleanliness of the rooms and that they are nice and bright. Love the option of a kitchenette. We love sitting out on the lawn and around the pool in the summer. The location is great being within walking distance of Skaha Beach.

The doors don't shut very well, and I could hear others slamming their doors to shut them fully. But it's an old building! No one was slamming doors late at night.

Everything was newly renovated, clean, and comfortable. Real mugs for coffee and very nice coffee too. The new shower heads are excellent and all new bedding. I was really impressed. I loved being so close to Skaha bluffs, a short walk to coffee and breakfast. And the owner is charming and friendly! She's done a lot of work and it shows!

Front door latch. We thought the door was latched and locked and when we came back it was ajar. Have to really be careful. I have had this happen on a different room I stayed in back in November. Walls are thin where you can hear other guests if they are next door. I am being picky because overall this motel is very clean, fridge, little coffee pot and kettle. I will definitely stay here again.

Estelle is friendly and very accommodating. The motel is very clean and bed mattresses are new. Hot water for shower is very good. She even had the heat on in our room when we arrived and it was so nice and cozy.

Great for a motel, but don't expect luxury. It is an older motel with a bit of a stale (?old tobacco smoke) smell. Would not recommend for an anniversary or special couples event, but great for families on a budget or teams for a tournament/festival.

Close to Skaha beach. Very friendly and available staff. Clean. Easy check in/check out experience. Mini kitchen available for quick breakfast before heading out. Great area near pool for sitting and visiting, outdoor BBQ/picnic.

Great location 5 minutes walk from beautiful beach on Lake Skaha, with easy access to downtown facilities. Rooms were spotless, with modern design and very comfortable beds. Added extras were the pool and garden area with bbq. Estelle was very kind and went the extra mile to make us feel at home and we will definitely use the Empire again!

We had to drive to get groceries and there weren’t restaurants closer.

For the age of the motel we found it very comfortable, it was clean and we enjoyed the gazebo s. The interaction with other guests and families made us feel very comfortable. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to repeat customers .

Air conditioner is a bit noisy but there was also a fan in the room which helped at night.

Fabulous location, short walk to beach. Excellent pool and courtyard area. Clean rooms. Rooms are small as to be expected…it’s a vintage hotel! So glad it’s still around.

Great check in/out experience. Room was decent size and had AC which was much needed as it was a hot night. We were in town for wine festival and only stayed one night. Sadly, didn't get to experience the pool but it looked fairly welcoming. Great value for the money and right on the main road making it an easy commute. Walking distance to the Skaha waterfront park/beach makes it ideal, no need to look for parking at the beach.
