Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was not one thing that I would consider changing. It met all our expectation and exceeded most.
Gite du Quartier des Arts was located on a public transport line. It was also walking distance from many places to eat and sight see. The property was very clean and comfortable. Eric and Anny were the most wonderful hosts. It is clear they love Quebec and their beautiful 100 year old terrace house. We were immediately welcomed into the Quartier and that welcoming feeling continued throughout our visit.

United StatesTwo things: Climbing the step stairs to get into the property’s second level was a bit tricky because of snow on the steps snd railings. Just had to take it slowly. The commode continued to run after every use until we adjusted the flapper. Got to be tedious.
Staff, location, on the bus line (and we had complimentary bus passes), clean, well maintained, and very nice furnishings.

CanadaWe had a wonderfully comfortable stay. The rooms were impeccable and quaintly decorated. The parking was a huge bonus allowing us the flexibility to come and go. There were nicely baked treats for breakfast which my boys enjoyed thoroughly. Anny and Eric made sure all of our needs were met. We will definitely be back!

CanadaAbsolutely nothing negative. This is a gem in every aspect.
Anny & Eric are one of those couples committed to making you feel at home, well cared and spoiled. Yes, spoiled. They are invisible but present for anything you may need for your stay to be the best time in the city. The place is sensational and top-tier in every sense and detail. The complementary breakfast is so beautifully put and offered that it makes your morning different. We met returning guests in the house, and we agreed the place must be the best guest house in the city. Just try it; you won't regret a single dollar paid.

Eric and Anny have thought of everything you might need. Rooms, bathroom, and kitchen well equipped. Washer and dryer were very convenient. Spaces tastefully decorated and comfortable. Beautiful garden available to guests. Bagels, fruit, homemade pastries, coffee, etc., available for breakfast. Easy access to shops, restaurants, art museum, Plains of Abraham, and bus (or walk) to old Quebec. Montcalm is a lovely part of town.

CanadaThe only thing of note is that the windows aren’t very soundproof so we could hear the cars in the street pretty clearly, but other then that it was fine.
It was very nice that they offered us food and drinks for breakfast. The room and the bathroom were nice and clean. And we were offered free parking with a charging port for my car.

United StatesThe toilet linkage was out of adjustment so the toilet ran constantly and did not refill unless you lifted the top off the back and dipped your hand in the water Although minor and kind of tweakable, it was a catastrophic and frustrating failure for the female members of our party. Given that the overall condition of the house and appliances was quite sound, I think this will be fixed by the time the next guest arrives, especially given that is is like a $3-4 part
This is a wonderful apartment about a 25 minute walk to the old city and a six minute walk to a shopping and grocery intersection The rooms were decorated by artists with a serious eye to interior decor and the rooms are warm and comfortable in winter with plenty of bedding, great beds, big table to work on and steps from a kitchen (no oven or range but everything else. Plenty of bagels and muffins with accompaniments were in the refrigerator and even a few local beers! Personal touches were everywhere and our names were even on the doors to our rooms. You couldn't ask for more! And if yo drive an electric car, there is an electric car charging station right next to the parking spot.

Close enough to the “old town” to walk but also a bit space from all the tourism. Close to nice restaurants. Really was a great place. Eric gave us several excellent recommendations on places to see and things to experience. Highly recommend Eric and Anny’s place.
