Not enough light for reading,: no outlets by the bed

A very large room with a super comfy king-size bed and plenty of furniture: (2 tables, 3 chairs, 2 bedside tables), a clothes closet and a cooking niche, with fridge & microwave. It seemed to have been recently remodeled & we enjoyed the coal-mining theme of the decor. I would definitely recommend.

the wifi was terrible, the bistro set in our room was odd and very unstable. There were hardly any available outlets in the room.

It is puzzling to me that a room with two beds, rented to two people, consistently has only one chair. One guest must always perch on the side of the bed or lay out flat on the bed! My request for an extra chair was not fulfilled. We stayed two nights and our room was not refreshed after our first night. The front desk provided coffee pods etc for our second morning. I kind of miss the breakfast in a bag provided during Covid restrictions. It was certainly adequate , convenient and free.

It is centrally located and easy to find. Our room was very clean and quiet but not overly spacious The bed was very comfortable . The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. An adequate hot breakfast was available at a reduced price for hotel guests but this was not mentioned when we checked in although there was a small sign which I noticed by chance. We have stayed here several times and are always satisfied with our visit.

I felt the lighting wasn't very good in the room - there were 3 lamps but one of them didn't work. A hotel worker came and replaced the bulb but it still worked only for a few minutes. I was happy to see there was a restaurant at the hotel since there are no other restaurants within walking distance and I had no car. But I was very disappointed to learn the restaurant wasn't open on Sunday for dinner - only brunch. My stay was a Sunday night to Monday morning. I ended up ordering a pizza and having it delivered from a local pizza joint.

The room was very nice - it was a theme room. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

No elevator. Exit door on the main floor was not locked at night. Doesn't look like it has a lock.

Clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. This hotel is very dated but well kept. Restaurant is now a 3rd party facility. breakfast, bacon and eggs, toast is $6.99. for hotel guests. Good service, good food.

Sign was not lit up at night so drove right by it. Had to turn around and drive slowly to find driveway. Parking lot in total darkness. Was told this situation will be fixed soon. A dirty ring around the pool should be cleaned off.

Staff friendly. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Had a mini fridge and microwave in room.

We couldn't get the Keurig coffee maker to work until the staff explained that you needed to plug in either the microwave or the coffeemaker. Who knew? A sign would be nice explaining that, or better, they could install an adapter.

Staff was very nice, and the restaurant had excellent breakfast specials for overnight guests. The hotel had everything one needs in a good location. The towels were thick and there was plenty of hot water.

Facility is tired and could use some freshening up. Peeling paint in many areas with a general feeling of neglect and lack of maintenance. Front desk staff was helpful but there was an obvious language issue made more difficult with the wearing of COVID masks. A TV operation guide would be helpful as it is not intuitive. WiFi extremely slow and frustrating for Business Guests. Frequent loss of signal.

Room was ready upon arrival and clean. Restaurant onsite was very welcoming with great food.

One of the beds was very loud. Our kids are light sleepers and would wake up every time they turned over in the bed closest to the bathroom. We all ended up sleeping in one bed, the bed was way too creaky to sleep comfortably.

The staff was all friendly. From the check in staff to random employees we passed in the halls - everyone greeted not only adults, but our kids as well.

Reception. Two different people were on duty at the reception desk….both seemed to hide behind a screen and only emerged when a question was asked. No friendly, bubbly greeting that we have experienced at other hotels during our travels. Certainly the hotel needs to improve on this very important aspect of guest relations. The Internet was down for the entire three days that we were there without sufficient explanation. Just a simple, “we called the company this morning.”There was no breakfast provided by the hotel. The on site restaurant offered a good breakfast that hotel guests could buy.

Hearthstone has made a great attempt to upgrade rooms. Nice wood floors, new bathroom fixtures and new furniture. Decorating features were interesting …our room had a fishing theme.

Very dated, had a marijuana smell waft into the room at 3am. Very thin walls and could hear a lot of the neighbours conversations. Was quite a walk to the wharf so stay further down Kings Rd if that’s your goal. The toilet was also dirty when used the first time.

Free parking, easy to access hotel right along the way to the waterfront.
