How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

My room was super cute I felt I become a princess during I was stayed at room! And Sharon is definitely nice person! She is friendly and very flexible! She helped me a lot! I’m really appreciate that you did to me!! Banana cake what you could have on breakfast also is pretty good😊

I had a great time staying there. The hostel was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff member was so friendly and helpful and it was in a great location. I highly recommend this hostel!!! I will be going back in the future.

The free breakfast was vegan style - I was hoping to get an egg, if not meat. The features at the corner of the bed stick out and attacked me a few times when I tried to move around in the room. Ouch!
It was a nice surprise that the Queen room came with a private water closet and basin (shower was outside the room and shared). The host Shannon was nice and friendly. Location is in a relatively quiet residential area but still within walking distance to most tourist attractions. Nice sound insulation I could not hear people talking outside even during daytime.

Loved the location of the hostel - it's close to the river . I went for a walk by the river every morning and made it back for breakfast. The breakfast was a bonus given the price for the accomodation! The host is very welcoming and available if you have questions

The staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms were nice and spacious, beds were comfortable. Nice social areas, great atmosphere and decent breakfast, very nice to have fresh fruit.

A nice breakfast was provided. The host is wonderful. There's a great community space in the kitchen and I had nice conversations with others who were also staying there. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Easy access to Charlottetown.

The owner Shannon has made this hostel a home.It was clean, cozy and comfortable. Great location within walking distance to so much fun stuff. During my stay I made so many friends and had amazing breakfast conversations with all of the travellers. I will definitely be going back.

Nothing except that we had to leave so soon. It was so lovely I wish we could have stayed longer.
Absolutely loved the hospitality of the host! She created such a warm and friendly atmosphere and a great opportunity to meet and swap stories with people from all over the world She also had great restaurant recommendations and the staff was wonderful! Thank you Shannon!

There wasn't anything that I would change.
This was a super convenient and central location and well above what I expected in a Hostel accommodation. The room was exceptionally appointed and clean, with great welcoming staff. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling to Charlottetown. Everything was walking distance and it had the most wonderful and friendly vibe. I would not hesitate to book and stay here again.

The staff was incredibly nice, there for every little request, the place was INCREDIBLE and so clean (and comfy))! So cool with a guitare that everybody could play and a pool table! Truly a hidden gem!! So much love for Shannon (the host), wonderful women she is!

would be nice to receive towels and toiletries in addition to just the shampoos. there was a vague mold smell in the room that was not pleasant.
its located conveniently. Did not get to enjoy the Breakfast since we were not the morning persons. It closed quick for our means and wasn't much to choose from, other than toasted bread and butter / coffee.
