Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is a back entrance that leads directly to the Metro supermarket and was more accessible when coming from Yonge-Dundas Square, but unfortunately, this entrance wasn't accessible so you have to go around the building. Possible to use this exit though.
Excellent location within walking distance to Yonge-Dundas Square, subway, Church-Wellesley gay village, etc. Nice A/C

Canada• The beds are ok, but the pillows are uncomfortable. Very thin. • No facilities at all or even a place to at least get coffee. Had to go into town for everything. But at least you don't have to walk very far. • The wifi was spotty. Once connected it worked great, but it disconnects each day and it doesn't always show up on the list of available connections. • No TV in the room. There is a shared one in the common area though and we don't watch that much TV anyway.
• Everyone was helpful and friendly. • Excellent location. Walkable to restaurants, shops, Dundas Square and the subway. • Secure Entry. Must be buzzed in. • Unbeatable rates • Very clean • Water pipe burst during our stay and it was fixed immediately. Only out of water for a couple of hours. • It's a bed and a toilet. No frills or extras. If you just need a place to sleep at a good price, it's a perfect spot.

NetherlandsThe accommodation is a bit old and smells a bit musty. There was no kettle in the room or elsewhere to boil water to make some tea or coffee.
The room was spacious. There is Metro supermarket next door and plenty of cafes and restaurants at walking distance as well as subway line 1 and a tram. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

GermanyCleanliness could be improved. Nevertheless recommendable hotel.
Good room at a fair price - good value for money considering alternatives in Toronto. Very good location - grocery store and Bike Share station very close. Downtown in walking distance.

CanadaI think it’s okay but there was no tv. It’s understandable though. The pillows were not comfy but able to manage.
Didn’t have breakfast, sure it was good. It’s a good location to get Tim Hortons coffee. I liked it that it was peaceful. I liked it that it had air conditioning and wifi.

CanadaThe bottom sheets was shorter than the bed and there was not light at the desk for night time working and could have had a bigger towel. Microwave and fridge would have been good to have in the room but still worth the price.

Irelandgreat if they had breakfast as an option. TV in common room not working, we wanted to watch Basketball playoffs, it would be great if it was working. Also great if cuttlery was available in the kicthen to cut bread or make a salad for example.
Location was very central, so perfect to visit Toronto. Price was very good given the location. Typical University facilities, so not expecting Hotel type rooms. Simple rooms but clean. bathroom clean. access to a kitchen to leave food in the fridge, and in the freezer.

United StatesFor what I paid, it was exactly what I expected and needed (if not a little better!), so there wasn't much I didn't like. only main thing was that the sheets didn't fit the bed well and the pillows weren't that comfortable. If you're particular about a pillow I would bring your own.
The location was great, super close to a bunch, the wifi and the check in process was easier than a more expensive hotel I stayed at through my work a few days before. For the price, definitely a great value.

CanadaTwo towels per guest would be lovely though I understood from other reviews that we could ask for more at the front desk. It didn't seem worth the trouble to go down for another.
If you are looking for clean, safe, cheap accommodations in downtown Toronto, then this is an excellent choice for you. It is a dorm so it can't be compared to a luxury hotel. As far as dorms go (and I have stayed in a few), this one was terrific. The front desk clerk was kind and friendly. The room was of course basic but had a working air conditioner and a private bathroom (which is a personal absolute must). There were also a few toiletries provided. The bed was quite firm and the pillows are plastic (to be expected in a dorm) but I found everything comfortable enough. The location is fantastic, right downtown. Also, it is right next door to a lovely, fair-sized food market for economic meals and snacks, and includes a small Tim Hortons outlet. 10/10 would stay again.
